I see greed has set in here and totally screwedup a great site.No- I won't pay your damn fee.Get your advertising dollars from someone else. If you need money to stay working all you had to do was ask. Now I'll most likely get spam from this site like all the other pukes out there.
I really enjoyed this site......now it can rot in hell.
Anyone else feel this way? Speak up,this is America Damnit!

What I have discovered is that the vast majority of users of this site are unregistered visitors (Non Members).
This presents numerous problems, unregistered users demand site resources and rarely post value added content, that's just the way it is. Value added content can have the form of a question on tractor use, buying etc., or a response to such a question. In other words useful dialog, exchange, interaction ..... We have all seen the occasional visitor like dickweed who seeks to insult rather than consult.
Registration involves thinking up a Userid, and a password, and entering an email address, which we use for administration purposes only, and can be hidden from all TractorPoint members.
Registration allows me to track site usage and to offer subscription services like our "Premium Membership", a future optional subscription newsletter.
Not a big deal really.
Previously I allowed unregistered users to view message content up to 400 characters in length. Today I changed that policy.
As of today unregistered users can only see a "keyword abstract" of TractorPoint content up to 400 characters.
I would prefer to route unregistered users to a registration page instead but that presents other problems. Search engines are unregistered users and would bypass TractorPoint content if I did. But search engines "like" keywords so that is what has be left in the messages for unregistered users.
So if it is not too hard and you are unregistered, please take a moment to register.
In case anyone has the misconception that advertising reaps significant revenue, HELLO. Almost all forums are going to a membership subscription basis, I know its a switch and it may not feel right but I cannot operate the site without subscriptions.
Thanks to all that have upgraded to "premium" membership and because of our long term contributors TractorPoint is still a viable and great place to get information on Tractor purchases and use.
regards,
Dennis

It's worse than that Doc!
Dickweed wasn't sending TractorPoint any subscription fee.
Its amazing all the whining and hostility that was in his profile saying how awful it was for me to change the policy after he has been using the board for years, (probably copying content to another board) complaining about having to create a userid and a password, and that I was going to SPAM him.
Give me a break, anyone see a post before from dickweed....

Dennis, personally I think you should make all non paying members register. If they dont register no posting. After they register they get 30 days to kick out the payment or some time frame like that. After that they dont get to log on at all with out paying. Why should you work for less and who gives a rats behind if you make $$ on advertiseing. Why is it people always think the other fellows time is worth less. But then what would we honestly expect from any one with a handle like that ? Dave ....

It is ironic that many people have gotten thousands of dollars of value from the board by its advocacy on things like recalls, and getting better prices on equipment, learning from all of you how to fix and operate tractors. And yet ....
I have gotten emails from some that have said you know Dennis it is because of my years of using TractorPoint that I saved $4000 on my John Deere Tractor by getting them to repair it based on TractorPoint data......yatee yah!
And the same guy says you know Dennis you have huge "XhkjUs" to charge me $19.97 for a years subscription to TractorPoint! This is outrageous I'll take my business (what business) elsewhere.
And so it goes.......

I don't kow if anyone can read this, as I am an unreg. user, and can't read anything now. As an OCCASIONAL (rare) reader of tractorpoint, I saw no need to pay the fee. This is ridiculous, I will be deleting this URL from my bookmarks. Art White, sorry man, your banners here are now waaaay too expensive; you will no longer reach tractor owners like myself. You need to LISTEN or READ a bit more closely TractorPoint is not requiring`payment to read the board.
"Free Registration" is now required to read messages up to 400 characters. Premium membership is required for messages over 400 characters and includes other features like classifieds, notifications, Photo Album, and soon discounts at participating dealers
To reduce your stress you need to:
1)Pick a better userid than BYE BYE
2)Think up a password
Hmmmm ! that seems to be it
Tired yet... hmmmmh thought so... lets try some aerobic exercise. Yup!!! stop playing come on you can do it that a boy.

All this ranting has created some improvement in my vision.

Chief, my wife is doing it with me. The first thing she does whenever starting a new kick is go to amazon and buy every book she can on the topic. I think she singlehandedly keeps amazon in business. We've got "Atkins for Life" along with a dozen others. It just doesn't work fast for some people. My cousin is on Atkins and is being supervised by a doctor - she has lost about 20 lbs but it's taken 15 months so far for her. ....

Dennis,
I have unknowingly resembled a lot of the remarks express in this thread. Although I will generally remain somewhat in the background, listening, learning, and enjoying the vast amount of information being shared by tractor enthusiasts, what was being said, made sense to me. Hence, Dennis you have my 6 cents per day. I have only posted twice since arriving here a couple months back (on accident), and both were questions, not answers. However I did use the board to make what I believe was a sound purchase. A JD 2210, 210 FEL, 48" box blade, which is scheduled for delivery today. Thanks, to everyone who participates (properly) in this forum.

Dennis,
Just sent my payment in via PayPal and should have done it a month ago or so when I found this jewel. As many have said if by getting experienced advice can save you pain on decision, money on purchase, money on preventitive damage:) it is well worth it.
We are not talking about toys here(well it will be my toy) they cost a considerable amount of money and can do some damage for the newbies....
Thanks Again ....

Personally, I wonder how many of those trolls got thrown out of tractor dealers for screaming at the poor salesman, telling him at the top of their lungs that it was un-American to want to make a profit off his God-given right to a tractor.
Hmmmm ... they think profit is wrong...
Hmmmmm ... didn't the Russians try that ...
Hmmmm ... maybe these people should be corrected by a polite note to the administrator of their server asking them to refrain from posting lewd, offensive comments to this board... maybe management would have 'words' with them about it....
As for the diets, I tried one 5 years ago, it worked great, I lost 135 pounds in two weeks.
I went away for two weeks and when I came home she was gone.
It's true what they say, you do feel aLOT better after you lose that much weight.
Best of luck. ....
