I’ve been flying aluminum airplanes for more than 40 years, flying in them nearly 20 years longer than that.

The weight or type of cargo is moot, as long as it’s loaded correctly. I’ve flown aircraft with more than 30 tons of payload, still way below its rated capacity. No issues.

Now in the hands of someone my grandfather would have described as “someone who could break an anvil with a rubber hammer”…… all bets are off.

There is too many factors and variables, to even try to calculate the pulling force of a given Tractor.

I can tell you this, though, unless it’s a very, very very small stump there is no chance you’re going to just pull it out with a tractor of that size.

If the filter was dirty the dirt got there via the fuel tank first. It’s likely the outflow from the tank and / fuel lines are clogged too.

Have a good look at everything and (carefully) give the fuel line a puff of compressed air to see that it bubbles back to the tank.

Hard to tell without seeing it in person, but I’ve seen split trunks felled by wrapping them in strong steel cables to keep them together long enough to drop them.

They ran a similar system on the Ford tractors called “Thermostart”, but with a clever twist.

The fuel reservoir for the heater was inline with the excess fuel return line from the injectors to the tanks, the fuel only got to the tank when the reservoir was full.

It would probably be fairly easy to reproduce on your unit.

First off, RPM is mechanical not electric and the tach cables are notorious for failure, and readily available.

Secondly, are you sure the issue with the fuel gauge isn�t the sender in the tank? Or a bad ground or other wiring issue?

Thirdly, almost every Ford / New Holland tractor made in the last 60�ish years uses the same basic shape & type of instrument cluster.

As you will need to find in the future, Ford was the epitome of shard parts, if you look up some of them you will see they fit (literally) pages of different models.

I�d be leaning towards the problem being the power steering (PS) box. I say that because typically the system is set up with the PS as the priority circuit for safety. The PS gets its power first, only then does the excess go to other things like the loader and motive power.

From the description you definitely have a hydraulic circuit dead-headed, that�s what�s robbing the hydraulic power. The noise you�re hearing is the pressure relief valve opening & closing at super speed.

One thought though, is the loader (or it�s control valve) a recent addition? I ask because I�ve seen something similar before when someone added the wrong type of valve. Some are �open center� some are �closed center�, they cannot be switched.

Most that I�ve spoken to up here run Shell Rotella 15W40 all year-round in the engine. With a rad hose type of block heater it�s never a truly �cold start� and the engine seems to start better.

If you don�t already have one (or more) get a magnetic block heater for the transmission/ hydraulics, it makes a huge difference in performance when first started.

Parts should be available through the North American importer. If not directly they should be able direct you to a dealer much closer than Europe.

Both Belarus and Zetor tractors were pretty popular here in Canada as utility machines, especially for work in the woods, firewood, Maple syrup, etc.

If you left it somewhere a pet could get to it I suppose it really wouldn't be good for them, however I'm guessing that if it's being put around a a tractor or other equipment there'd be spilled oil, hyd. fluid and antifreeze that wouldn't be very good for them ether.

Bear in mind that a pipe plug is a plumbing (tapered) thread so if the person who put it together gave it an extra twist that combined with a bit of surface rust will certainly lock it up pretty solid.

If it�s proud of the box (sticking up a bit) a good rap with a hammer might help break it loose, if not try putting an old bolt or punch in the socket and use that to give it a little percussion therapy.

On a basic tractor like that there likely isn�t any adjustment other than the pedal linkage.

Because of the weight and affordable price on those units they were favourites of newbies and homeowners, especially for things like bush-hogging and snow blowing, two things that are hard on clutches with an inexperienced hand at the controls.

There�s 2 options, maybe a 3rd technically.

First, you can carry it with the FEL, you have better visibility, range of motion and unfortunately that comes at reduced capacity in most cases.

Secondly you can use forks (as mentioned) or a dedicated 3pth �carry-all� box. This gives you added weight capacity, better traction and in tight quarters, better maneuverability.

Technically the third way would be to employ both methods at the same time.

I usually a utility box with a hydraulic toplink for the majority of my firewood gathering but mostly because I do so at my farm and cottage where I only have a mid-sized 2WD utility tractor available. The hydraulic toplink allows me tilt the box in towards the tractor to increase carrying capacity and when extended to mostly dump the box.

That�s very strange, I�ve never seen that from the factory.

Are you sure it�s a 1770 model? What I�m seeing online is that it would be a 29k pound 185 hp beast. Is that what you have.

Some of the claims here are, well, 'imaginative' at best. I run a small fleet of tractors in my operation.

We used to run all GST units but economics and the fact that Kubota only offers the GST transmission in open station format now means all my tractors are now HST units.

In both our 'real world' testing doing construction and contracting, and all the published testing I've seen to-date, the HST means a loss of somewhere between 2 to 5 hp.

Also based on that experience I can tell you that in recent hard work during 92 deg. heat (with the humidex in the upper 90's) and the A/C running none of them got anywhere close to running too hot.
