Even in the rural parts of NJ where I live you can get surprised when around a curve on a narrow road one of these machines is traveling between fields. At times like that it helps if you are not driving too fast and crazy like some do going wide on the curves.

With the crazy warm weather this year I have delayed putting the blower on until we get a forecast for heavy snow that the loader and grader blade cannot handle. I agree the drive shaft can be a pain if the ball bearings are sticky with dirt and grease, which seems to be most of the time! I have been spraying it with WD 40 to clean and then spraying teflon lube. I make sure the ball bearings move smoothly. If I do not do that I have a heck of time mounting the shaft as you pointed out. Thanks for the good tip!

I have the Kubota Mid mount deck and if I let the grass get too tall before cutting I get uneven results due to the wheels bending the grass before the deck cuts the grass. The dual mid gauge wheels also seem to create the high middle symtom you describe. Cutting a second time in a new direction fixes it.

Would help if you gave us the make and model, HSD or Manual shift. Simple answer is there is generally a lever that makes the selection with the clutch depressed. On Kubotas I shift on the run,clutchless, as long as wheels are straight.

I used another car and left the one with the dead battery home. Went to the rehearsal dinner and the replacemnt car would not start, "Move Key Fob Closer to Ignition". Dah wish I had set a reminder to replace Key Fob battery on a 2 year replacement schedule instead of when it fails. :-)

I remember when Ford first made the change to aluminum, GM ran an ad campaign showing radical abuse of the Ford truck bed showing that steel is better. One example was having a tool box drop off the side rail into the bed. On close examination it can be seen that the tool box must have been full of concrete when falling into the Ford, while the one for the GM bounced around like it was empty. Also dropping concrete blocks from about 4 + feet is a bit harsh. Simply sliding a 3/4 inch sheet of plywood into either truck bed would go a long way towards enhancing the longevity of either truck bed.<br>

On my tractor I get about 7 years, and I wait until it gives me problems before replacing. On SUV's 4 to 5 and I really should just replace at 4 and not wait for issues to opo up before I take action but I never do, I need that click cick sound to stimulate me :-(.

On my Kubota the rear axle has 5 different width settings. Check to see if your axle is similar
