It should be relatively easy to find a 16 inch truck rim to match the original specs.

Look at my pictures.... the green tractors have correctly sized (to match the 4wd specs) radial mud/snow truck tires. They are light years ahead of any bias ply tractor turf tire.

I can help you figure out how to get the ratios correct between front and rear.

Wow. What a blast from the past! Yooperpete and the chief..............Good to know you guys are still kicking.

Yooper sold a quality product and I used mine for years. Gave it to a friend with an old Ford ag tractor and he is still using it for some heavy duty work. I moved on to a generic quick hitch that I got from Harbor Freight and that is on my current BX. It has one feature I accidentally found quite useful. It has about an inch of float on each lower hook.

I learned over the years that the easiest way plow snow was to use a box blade in reverse by pulling the top link up tight and running in reverse with the rear blade about 1/2 inch off the ground so the whole thing is sliding on the curved rear face of the front blade.

It floats just enough to follow the contours of my gravel drive way.... no more ugly gouges. And I don't have to swap implements back and forth laying in the snow. When you hit your 7th decade some things just don't seem as much fun as they used to...........

Murf... many thanks. I am thinking I want to adapt the concept to something a little more vertical like a snow pusher blade. Should work all the same I reckon. My gravel drive is so soft under the snow that even saucer sized skid shoes won't keep a blade from digging in.

Dennis, I know what you mean about the property stagnation. Here, we have a housing shortage as a holdover from the Obama doom and gloom era where all building came to a screaming halt. But the only housing selling here are the smallest possible properties and structures in the middle of the town. Houses on any appreciable plot of land sit on the market for months and years.

I think we are dealing with a sea change in the concept of what are desirable living conditions with this millennial generation coming up behind us. Large houses (large in their view) on plots of land are not even on the radar for them. Haven't seen any numbers, but I would not be surprised to learn the the market for our beloved little tractors has stalled too.

Hey Murf, been meaning to ask for about 15 years (maybe longer now that I look at the calendar).

Just how do you cut a straight slot in a round pipe with common garage tools?

And then do you weld it in place? Or is there some sort of secret Canadian attachment protocol? And no hurry.... its not going to snow 'till Saturday.

As noted above I sold it right after it was fixed. It was the last John Deere product I will ever buy. <br>

In theory it should be stronger with additional bearings in place but I just could not get my mind around Deere "saving" money by installing cheaper/weaker/lesser quality parts.<br>

I didn't want to wait around for the next engineering "surprise", so I put it in the best shape possible and cut my losses. <br>

Deere made a kit for a rear outlet. It may still be available or collecting dust on some dealers shelf. It fit the whole 41-- series and probably the 2320.

Well those rims are going to get in the way.

The key to doing it on the cheap is to have rims that can fit common radial car/truck tires and then weighting the rear end and keeping the inflation pressures very low.

You would have to do a bit more work researching bolt patterns for the rear end..... the fronts might be workable.. and then locating used or cheap rims in the 15 to 16.5 inch range.

If you decide to go that route I can help you match the ratios for the front and rear.

Had the same issue with my Deere 4115..... found a leaking hydraulic hose fitting bleeding air into the system.

Tightened all the fittings and the problem went away.

I am pretty sure I took my '02 Tundra to the car wash once about 6-7 years ago. Other than that it gets washed when it rains or snows.

My problem is my well water. If I wash a car in my very hard water it is covered with white spots that are very difficult to remove when it dries.

If I wash in soft water straight out of the softener it still has white freckles, albeit ones that are easier to remove.....but then I have to go to a car wash to get the spots off....

My long term plan is to install a small R.O. system in the garage and keep 50-100 gallons of pure water in storage to use as a final rinse.

We had a 1982 Suby purchased new in Anchorage. That car/engine combo was nothing short of amazing. I once drove it in snow so deep the snow flowed onto the hood and broke like a wave around the windshield.

Once, when my 5000+ pound van broke down, the Subaru pulled it home 4 miles with a tow strap. This was on a -0 morning and up a steep ice covered highway.

When we wore it out we bought a Justy. Not even the same car............

They are spendy buggers, but oh so nice for box scraper work.

They are not recommended for rear angling type blades.
