He did this a while back and then posted a few. It is amazing how much you can develop a friendship with someone here and never hear their voice. ....

I think Murf was here this week, so there must have been no posts he wanted to comment on.

Ken I agree with you, it is as you say. One of our Moderators Billy Passmore from Oklahoma, just to name one, was always on this site, and then one day he was gone. I have searched for him but never found out what happened, it is like losing a long time friend.

From way back when this site started Roger Loving was wed to Tractorpoint and then vanished, he was older I assume he passed.

I thank all of you who have been on some part of this Tractorpoint journey, it has been one of the best things for me over the last 13 years.

Dennis ....

When people disappear it is just like losing a friend. Maybe worse because usually when personal friends disappear there is some sort of closure, online friends tend to just go away without notice.

Hopefully Murf is just busy. I haven't been here much since I took a new job with a startup company. Yeesh, talk about hours. ....

It has been a long ride here. Glad to hear he has checked in and not out. I to take a break or get involved with a new project and focus a little to much. The blue tractor (it has 2 cylinders) has taken up a lot of time and nag-a-lot (aka:wife) has her list of projects.

I try to check in a couple times a week and see if there something I know about to comment or help someone with.

Good site good people. ....

Today while mowing grass this thread was on my mind. Dennis no idea if possible or proper, could there just be a open chat place here that would be not tide to any topic and maybe what I am asking about is a place for just friends to chat? There is so much about the new communication methods am on the side line admiring the simple days.

As to Billy, I am not sure but think there was some post that he made the comment about that he was gone and he did. If not him it was someone else I always admired.

Once in a while when an old thread pops up it wakes me up to who is not hear. This is a good time to say TP has really been a blessing for me. The people here really are great and care. They also will from time to time treat you like kin and give you a hard time. Okay, some I deserve! LOL ....

I was doing work on lasers before the new company. Now I'm working on system optimization for solar arrays. Never worked for Maytag or Whirlpool. ....

Glad to report, as Mark Twain said "The
reports of my death are greatly exaggerated". :)

Sorry folks, life, a new business (yeah I know, I'm supposed to be taking it easy) and flying around (both for pleasure and business) have gotten in the way, I still keep an eye though.

That and it seems the biggest group here lately have been the 'Gator' crowd. Beyond the fact they're green I don't know squat about those little buggers.

Other than a wrecked plane (I wasn't in it at the time) not much else is new.

Sorry for the worry.

I'm always around though, feel free to fire me a PM or email anytime.

Best of luck.

I think you're right. As I recall after the closure of the Maytag plant he sold is tractor and property and moved elsewhere. Hopefully he is doing well.

And I'm really glad Murf is still with us!

Hi Harvey, Kthompson, Kwschumm, Murf,

Just a shout out to all of you founding TP'ers.

Hope you had a good summer, it sure was one of the wettest in recent years, no summer brown out, had to use the mower every week.

That rain fall from Irma was crazy at 50 inches, if it had been snow that would be about 60 feet of snow, and I guess if that were at all possible, would wipe out civilization ;-(. I am sure Murf would have the right snow gear for it nonetheless.

Been working on repairing my cedar deck got some rotten end grains. Doing a patch job which is tedious as you have to use a plunge saw and custom cut each piece. Just want to eek out a few more years out of it. I have sure gotten to be one of the SLOWEST workers alive.

My wife marvels at how long ti takes me to do any meaningful work ! Here is a spouse story for you.

Her husband had been slipping in and out of a coma for several months yet she stayed by his bedside every single day. When he came to, he motioned for her to come nearer. As she sat by him, he said, "You know what? You have been with me all through the bad times. When I got fired, you were there to support me. When my business fell, you were there. When I got shot, you were by my side. When we lost the house, you gave me support. When my health started failing, you were still by my side. When I think about it now. ....I think you bring me bad luck!"

My best to all of you and yours.

Dennis

Well once again I'm both honoured and reminded of how people you 'hardly know' are so important in our lives. I am also glad to be included in such great company.

I just got back from a whirlwind trip to a) check on my Florida properties, and b) more importantly (to me anyways) attend a celebration of life of an old friend I served with at the National Museum of the US Air Force on the base at Wright-Patterson AFB in Dayton, OH.

I am truly blessed, not just because of my friends, so many of which I've never met face-to-face, but because all three of my properties in FL are relatively unscathed, something I can't say for so many others.

I can't believe how many years has passed.

Thanks Dennis, for all these years.

Best of luck friends, best of luck.

Glad to see everyone still mowing the green grass. Art so often I get something really good from you always enjoy.

I'm in the cardiology ward at St Joes. Had a incident yesterday riding bicycle . Not a full blown MI but enough to cause me some concern and for them to keep me. Think I'll be back at it in a day or 2. Got a little lazy with diet and exercise since the other med issues. Get back doing the right things.

You gotta be tough to get old. ....

You are so right. I am having all the mirrors replaced in my house, it will not change the situation but allow me to continue to be deluded. I have gotten a little bad on the diet, gotta get back on track.

Hope you are out soon and back at it.

Sorry to hear about your issue Harvey, hope you are back at it quickly.

I know it is going to sound whacky guys, but you seriously need to give it a shot, have a probiotic yogurt every morning with your breakfast.

My dear lady got me to a homeopath a while back. I had pooh poohed the idea but she persisted and pointed out that I had originally said much the same thing about a chiropractor. Point taken.

I am not sure how it works, or even why, but it does. I changed NOTHING else as far as diet or exercise, a problem due to injuries anyways. In y months I went from 250 pounds down to 210 pounds!

As a bonus I rarely snore now either I am told, although I do not believe I ever did. Hehehe. ;-p

Best of luck. ....

Murf,

With results like that I have to ask what brand yogurt are you using and can you get it in the lower 48 and I assume it would be Plain Yogurt, whole milk, low fat, or fat free:-)

Hey Dennis,

I eat Activia probiotic yogurt, it's available everywhere. Lots of great fruit flavours, I even have a second one for desert some evenings. The commercials are correct for once, it really does taste good. ;)

Best of luck.

I have been a long timer Dannon Plain Whole Milk yogurt consumer until the last 2 months.

And not for breakfast but as an evening snack, or feast actually, as I add cranberries, walnuts and a banana to it. Yup clearly over doing a potentially good thing.

I assume you are using the individual serving size. I think shifting my consumption to your model in the AM with the individual serving size instead of the Coma rendering evening size I had been doing would have many benefits.

Murf you have expanded your Tractor advisement practice into the healthcare arena!

Thanks for the Tip.

I was doing a probiotic for a while. Did not see a change. My bigger down fall is portion control and not munching in front of tv after supper.

Catheterization Lab 3 more stents below the other 5. Doing good. Now to get back on the straight and narrow. ....

Thanks friends for the kind words, but Dennis old buddy, you owe me a keyboard. The ‘coma rendering evening portion’ comment resulted in a sip of really great wine becoming terribly poor keyboard cleaner. LOL.

Harvey, stents are NOT like diesels, more is NOT better. Look after the engine or the rest of the machine is scrap.

Best of luck. ....
