TTWT on youtube has a good comparison on this tractor with the 5074E. No idea Tim who does this is but have seen many of his videos and he is REAL. I think he does a very good job in comparing the two models. Don't miss the difference in price and be shocked as I was to the amount of difference as which one is higher priced.

Tractorpoint was the forum that really helped me the most over the years. I seldom am on any forum in last couple of years and shows in my diesel fuel bill dropping greatly! There were some really great people here and sure still are. Taught me a lot in many ways. Sadly, some have gone on for various reason, some of them have passed but there are several I hold in my memory and heart. Amazing how good a friend can be and yet never know their face or voice.

Years ago I learned a very important point from the dealer I bought my first two Kubotas. I was asking about an Old Ford, maybe an N not sure now. He told me the prices or demand was not what they use to be. Puzzled me. He said people who buy the older tractors are mostly men who grew up using that model tractor and left the farm and now have retired or at least gone to gardening or other small operation.
Listen on tv ads what type of music they are selling, they are selling to those who have income to spend on collectibles and what was popular when they were young.

My suggestion, look at YOUR AREA. What was popular in its day. That will provide the best selling market for you if or when you decide to sell it for what ever reason. In my area it was small farms. The Ford N's and 601, Massey 35s and not sure the JD models of that time and Farmall and International. As much as I liked my wife's Ford 601 and my nephew's N would not select them to collect. Why, in my area the old JD get the attention. The brands who are now gone don't get much attention. Which sadly I think leave Case, MF and JD.

I almost always take my damaged hose to local shop and have them build me replacement. Yes it does cost more that way but be the time I understand the fittings on some of my items such as a British boom mower I have learned for me best option.
Now, if I have the time and in the area of my local Agri Supply (Tractor Supply use to have a fair select of hoses, no idea since their recent changes, find little "Tractor" parts at Tractor Supply now) will either take my old hose or a fitting that fits the hose with me with the specs of the hose off the old one. As to cost, buying premade is lowest cost I have seen.

I may be misunderstanding your problem. I read it the starter solenoid is keeping the starter turning to crank the tractor when you let up on the key. If that is correct, I think it means one thing, a bad solenoid. Contacts in it are sticking.

If we all only bought on line the rain, bags of any type, crazy shoppers and such would not worry us. I am not that shopper.

Now what I know about me and marketing: they say never go grocery shopping when hungry. If I am not hungry nothing looks good, so I buy almost nothing and I mean almost nothing. If I were to only shop for food on line I would forget there are real coconuts, not realize there is fresh watermelons or peaches in and thus not buy them, would not realize there is a new brand of razor and thus would not consider buying them. I think the same would be said for many of the items in the auto parts stores. I mean look at all the items they have I cannot live without! But If I don't venture into dream land would not know how much I needed those goodies!

Next thing I would notice is I was spending less on gas and car wear. Would have more free time to cut grass, watch tv, visit friends, play with tractor and yes saving money for as time goes on would know less and less of all the NEW gadgets out there now which I really need for my car which now I seldom drive.

Think on it.

NOT NEAR AS BAD as auto volunteer on my first smart cell phone. Instead of what I thought was typed and not realizing how it worked lady sent to said it read something about hooking up...never told her husband and friend. She was already hooking up with someone else as it turned out. So auto correct and such is off on all my devices now.

Check the obvious, is linkage broken or bent that controls the trans? Maybe is not connected. Best hope to me. Check fluid level, check condition of the fluid...if low enough it will not move the tractor it would scare me...if contaminated would also be concerned...what kind of service did the machine not get?

If I were wanting to sell that tractor and knew the trans was not moving it would have it taken care of, if it is something simple you would be happy with. While I say check on it, unless you find something like lose linkage would have to be heavy price discount. Repairs on such can be very costly. Stop by local Kubota dealer and talk with shop manager on issues that could be and get idea on price to repair. It may shock you on the cost.

I have a B2710, there is a whine to the hyds I think almost all the time you are moving coming from the hydrostat transmission. Your noise might be normal. Know anyone who has a similar tractor? Get with them to either listen to yours or you listen to theirs to judge the noise. It might have been there the whole time and as you are getting use to the tractor you are noticing more and more of how the tractor operates.

Boy, do I understand your bottom plow! First plow ever used with tractor was such a setup but with tiller blades rather than mold board plows. Same use.

Don't miss Murf's question, pull it with the fixed draw bar and not the 3-point hitch. Tractor has no ability to affect the depth of this plow or if so, very little. I will suggest see if you can find a youtube video on someone using one to help see how they set it up. Not complicated. Our plow was raised and lowered by one wheel activated with pull rope. Not sure the exact insides of the hub where that is done but think you will find cams to do the raising and dropping. IF, your tractor has rear remote hydraulics you might consider replacing that setup with a hyd cyl to give better control.

But back to getting the plow in the ground: the plow points, good possibility yours are worn badly and need to be replaced. Take one with you to a true farm supply store that sells implements. If you have label on the plow of brand and model you might find them on line. You may have to repair the points you have. Need a good shop to do the work.

Plow point must be point down to engage and keep it engaged. Take it slow to get it engaged, it needs a few feet to dig in. NOTE and very important, there is NO trip, shear or spring to absorb the impact of hitting anything in the ground. If you have rocks, roots take it slow. It can stop the tractor in inches, and you travel till you hit tractor...Not enjoyable.

Looking back at your plow see if you can have your wings and not sure the proper term but the bottom blade built up as they show looks like heavy wear.

If there is a heavy vegetation you might find plowing deep helps the by getting below the roots. Could not tell much about the disk but slow with disk also till ground is torn up. If you can adjust the blades angle set it where the leading edge is near straight, so it is easier to cut vegetation. Would set the rear blades almost that straight. Need blades without damage to them. Bent or ripped blades don't work well. Weight is your friend with a disk. Be sure to keep anything you add for weight does not rub or affect blade clearance. May need to use boards to build platform for the weights. Old metal such as railroads rails, tractor weights, any metal you have that can be held in place. Even a sprayer tank filled works.

BTW, any older farmers near you? Can be great source of knowledge. Have fun and hope you have great success. Oh the first tractor I used was also an older Case, only fixed draw bar.

If you are needing a flexible hose at least here NAPA parts stores, make them as do many if not all tractor shops. If you are needing a metal hose or tubing the source gets tight. I would suggest a company who repairs big cylinders or does work on excavators as their boom tubing is rather exposed.

Could be glow plugs failed, could be air restriction or bad fuel also. Check the filters in the air and fuel system. Diesels need lots of air and clean fluid. Be sure the fuel is not gelled.

Does your tractor have hyd or mechanical linkage from the steering wheel? Check our hyd oil, crack the drain plug to be sure water does not seep out, if so drain, flush and refill with new filter(s). Could be a relief valve issue, verify no level is stuck open.

I would look carefully for bent linkage or stick in it prevent it moving for forward since you were "hogging". Get under the tractor and have someone work the pedal if you don't see anything by yourself.

mirabellanavejar, I would begin with the company your tractor is. Not throwing off at any aftermarket FEL but I would begin with a dealership as they should have the most complete info on loader for you with mounts and such. Then I would talk with the aftermarket people.

No idea on that model but it could have a valve to control the lift. Does the tractor have both a lift and a draft control? If so the draft control is probably not set correctly. If you have draft control it will have two levers for the lift. Unless you are plowing or such ground engagement equipment draft is normally set to highest setting.

When you drained the oil, you did fully drain it correct? What did the oil look like? Did it have water in it, if so that will affect the lifting ability as the tractor heats up, did you find any metal pieces in it?

Longs are not complicated tractors, but no idea on parts for them since the basically closed at least in the USA. Left the dealers holding a bad. Not sure that was Long or just the USA Long people. For their price they seem to hold up well,.

Touched on this with answer on air leak.

I will fill my fuel filter with fuel as works to do so for installing. I used to bleed the system as most manuals tell you to but got lazy you may say. I find it easier for me to just spray WD 40 into the air intake while having someone else start the engine. Depending on the set up of the filter system will spray into the filter intake or remove the air filter to get better path for the WE 40. Have a friend who wets a rag with gas and covers the air intake and says it works good for him. Not a fan of gas as the fumes are dangerous. It has been my experience it only takes a few seconds for the air to be purged from the system and easy to handle with a spurt of WE40 if the engine begins to die down.

Most likely it is a gasket or rubber fuel line with crack or hole under a clamp. I think it also could be a fuel pickup issue due to trash or possible pump issue not working fully.

My best suggestion is a good looking at all fittings, gaskets and such for holes or seeping of fuel. But think you would find spraying with WD40 on such fittings might help locate a suction leak. It will not harm the engine, use it for starting fluid or for repriming when fuel filters are replaced spraying into the air filter on my engines, even gas. Listen very carefully for engine speed to increase or at least level off.
