Hello all, first post, new member...I just acquired a Ford 7108 loader and it needs a new set of hoses and 1 new (or rebuilt) cylinder. I would like to order some hoses online for it but I gotta be honest, I am a bit confused as to the SAE rating (R1?) i need and the fittings.
All the hoses on there now look like 3/8" hoses with female swivel ends on them (NPT? JIC?).
Is there a "common" hydraulic hose for these little loaders, or, do i need to be extra careful about these SAE ratings and connector types? For example, is it generally just SAE R1 and JIC?
Thanks in advance, im new to the tractor game. Just an old guy working on some land he bought in the woods trying to be more remote and self sufficient.

Just ordered four hoses from discounthydraulichose.com to go from the quick connects to the pipe interfaces on the 7108. Shipped out within one day . I specified 6' with 3/8 swivel npt fittings. Other hoses use JIC-8's I've been told (and have seen the -8 on the connector). Previously bought from an online tractor dealer which had the parts catalogs online (but at about 4X the cost for this convenience). ....

Looks like I was a little rushed this weekend and I needed NPT-M on one side and JIC-8 on the other. Cheap even with adapters...

I almost always take my damaged hose to local shop and have them build me replacement. Yes it does cost more that way but be the time I understand the fittings on some of my items such as a British boom mower I have learned for me best option.
Now, if I have the time and in the area of my local Agri Supply (Tractor Supply use to have a fair select of hoses, no idea since their recent changes, find little "Tractor" parts at Tractor Supply now) will either take my old hose or a fitting that fits the hose with me with the specs of the hose off the old one. As to cost, buying premade is lowest cost I have seen. ....
