Just saw a picture of one of Ford New Holland's newest, a Boomer in a 1940's dress to resemble the old 8N's. There wasn't much text other than it mentioned front wheel assist. Never know it might be a hit with the nostalgic silver haired,(or no hair) set.

Frank I figgered you were trying to get my goat as Kenny would say. But nope--you're right---and here's the story link. And it's going into production! ....

Here's a picture--and it comes with a curved arm loader too!
I hate to admit it, since I DID own a 9N, it is kinda growing on me. Even though I'm nowhere near the grayhaired and nohaired. tehehe

Looks pretty neat. I'll have to stop by the NH dealer and take a look. I'm wondering if these are Shibauras. And what is a CVT doing in a tractor? ....

If they are going after the market who used the 8N when new, beleive they will find it to be a smaller market being active then they think. I know they had gone to the 601 series by 61, that was 48 years ago. So a 20 year old who used one is now 68 and I do know they buy tractors, but have feeling they will find not many. A local tractor dealer, one I bought my Kubotas from, told me about 8 years ago they were a very soft sell now as those who had a tender spot in their memory were old enough they were not buying them. ....

These type of Corporate decision to make stuff like this kills me. They are likely bloated $$$$ from last summer's "feeding frenzy" when farmers were buying new equipment during the gas prices hikes to make bio fuels---then the market dropped out. So these $$$ are probably the result of "R&D write-offs" against those profits--just one man's opinion.
The flip side is it does attract attention and has to resonate amongst those like Kenny said had one growing up. ....

KW; The CVT in a compact doesn't surprise me, I've wondered for while who would be first in a compact with one.
I never was around the 8N's as a kid so the nostalga bug isn't biteing me too hard, but if someone stated building new "M" Farmalls I'd be drolling all over one. Frank. ....

KW; About every major farm tractor company now has the CVT as an optional transmission. I think Fendt was the first with them. I've driven 200 HP Deeres with the CVT. More of a high dollar novelty than a necessity in my opinion. They are in principal a pretty simple system, that being my question of why they are a high dollar option. ....

To get one with all the chome on it would be a shame to use it much. I think they are for the garage or for someone that doesn't need a tractor. They are sharp looking with the bells and whistles! ....

Too Cool! I used to spend a lot of time in the seat of my grandfather's 8N. My uncle still has it and has restored it and I have told him I want it when he passes on.
The old 8N's were bullet proof. I hope the retro model sells well!

I may have to rethink the market they are going after. Wednesday night at Church a young (about 40) lady who grew up on farm and on one with horses and cows now was all exicted about them. Said she would like to buy one just for how pretty it is. Remember a year or more back the discussion on what color tractor you should have for a baby girl? ....

Hardwood, I happen to have two ornanges and no watermelon color ones (don't count the Gator, it was my wife's desire to have GREEN or nothing). But wonder how a "Pink" hood would look on a Green unit? Guess Case might could pull it off the best. ....
