I need to change the tans/hyd fluid in my 1500D. It has an add on joy stick for a rear bucket/scraper/3pt attachments. Does anyone know how much Fluid it will take to accomplish this. Will 5 gal be enough? ABOUT, BUT JUST ADD FLUID UNTIL, WHEN YOU LOOK IN, WHAT GEARS YOU CAN SEE ARE COVERED, AND THERE'S A COUPLE INCHES HEAD SPACE (SPACE ABOVE THE LEVEL TO ALLOW FOR HEAT EXPANSION).

-----Most important question is---- How many drain plugs are there and where are they are located?

MOST MODELS HAVE ONE OR TWO. UNDERNEATH.

A manual would be nice to reference but I can't afford one now and need to change the fluid quickly. Any downloadable copies out there? DOUBT IT. THE MURRAY MANUAL COST $40.

Also wanted to check if anyone know for sure if this has a screen instead of a screw on filter? I don see one on the outside. What is the location of the screen? ALL HAVE A SCREEN FILTER. LOOK UNDER FOR A TRIANGULAR COVER HELD BY THREE BOLTS AROUND 10 MM. DRAIN, REMOVE, CLEAN, PUT BACK. CAREFUL WITH THE O-RING. SOME HAVE ALSO A SPIN-ON FILTER TOO -- BIGGER THAN AND ON THE SIDE OPPOSITE THE OIL FILTER.

I'd think a Kubota front mount would be worth more than a standard rear mount so you might check on selling (or trading) the mount (or the whole blower) and getting a universal rear-mount one.

CB: Keep us posted. Meanwhile, you might want a wide-viscosity-range oil, and the widest are in some synthetics. I think there's one that's 0/50.

Yes, shears are weak (likely Grade 2) because they are way cheaper and easier to replace than what a higher grade would cause to fail instead.

When installing, don't reef the nut to the point of elongating the bolt -- use locktite, a locknut, a lock washer, or a double nut. If it broke at the threads, use a different length or washers to move the weak spot out of the way.

But MELTED? Something else is going on.

Generally, at shutdown lower anything raised and operate the hyd control in every direction. Then give the system time to further depressurize, maybe a few days.

You may have damaged the battery by overcharging.

Unless you've checked the starting circuit for a bad connection I'd suggest a simple test.

Buy a (not sure of the proper name) remote starter at an auto-supply store. It's a cig-pack-size box with a button on it and two long wires coming out of it. About $10.

One wire goes to the pos terminal of a good battery, the tractor's or a car's. Other goes to the starting terminal on the front face of the starter. If there are two large terminals and one small one, it's the small one.

Sit in the seat, neutral, clutch down. Someone presses the button. Nothing means starter fault. Cranking means bad connection somewhere, whether broken wire, bad ground, batt terminals, or clutch-pedal safety cutoff.

Another option would be a blade (angled or "V") to attach to or replace the bucket.

I haven't done a Kioti but in others it's done on the tractor unless perhaps the block needs work. You should have a service manual (not the ownners manual), and when I was interested in a new Kioti, when I asked about a service manual I got a blank stare.

Each step is easy but there are many of them, and you should document each disassembly step to make it easier to reverse each step the right way and in the right order.

Confirm the brakes are dragging by seeing if it will coast down a hill in neutral or how free the rears turn when jacked off the ground. If already sure, it would help to have a service manual for that model, if you can get one from a dealer or the head office.

I would

-order a Service Manual from a dealer or the head office. It will surely have an electrics diagram that I'd check one circuit at a time.

-buy a battery-disabler. Don't know the exact name, but it's under $5, attaches to the battery positive, and the pos cable attaches to it. Unscrew the green knob a few turns and the battery's disconnected. (You can unscrew it until it comes off to keep in your pocket, so your car can't be hot-wired.) Then I'd connect the battery only for cranking so I could use the tractor until fixed. (The battery will need charging after a number of uses, and you won't have horn or lights with it disconnected.)

You could buy a hose wrench designed for that application. Or if the bad part is accessible you could cut the old and new hoses in the same place and connect the new to the stub with an inside sleeve and two quality clamps on both sides.

That sure sounds strange but you could drain the oil and refill with the exact amount that the manual calls for, and see where the level is on the stick.

If I owned a Kioti, based on what I've read here, I'd get myself a factory service manual for dealers, do what servicing I could on my own, and turn the rest over to a good local general tractor mechanic.

I'm not saying this was the case, but it has been known for disaffected assembly workers to sabotage units by dropping a foreign body into an unseen place. And I believe there was labor trouble at the Dingdong (or whatever it's called) works back then.

They might be nesting for the winter. One cure is rodent poison, unless other animals you don't want killed could eat it too. In that case there are traps that can hold multiple mice. You have to keep at it.

I think you earlier asked about the filter screen and it wasn't answered. Some tractors (don't know about yours) have not only a hyd spin-on filter that gets replaced, but a fine mesh screen that (after you locate it) gets removed, cleaned, and put back.

Not a Kioti authority but I'd say that's neither normal nor serious.

Depends on type of work, but diesels work slower than gas engines. Assuming there's a tachometer marked with a red line, most work should be done from about twice the idle to just short of redline.
