I have a john deere 4110 and am trying to decide between the two chippers. Wallenstein bx 42 or a Liberty, it looks like a Jinma. Any help would be appreciated. Wallenstein costs 2600 but may get an Oregon rebate of 35%. I,ll have to drive 600 miles to get it, or the liberty is 2000 delivered. Liberty 2 yr warranty, wallenstein dont know.

I've never seen a wallenstein so I can't comment but if the liberty is a renamed Jinma there are a lot of comments on that one in the archives here. If you do a topic search on Jinma Chipper you'll probably find a bunch of info.
There was a story going around that one company was taking Jinma chippers, modifying them to beef up the weak spots, and reselling them. Is that what Liberty does? ....

Wallenstein was a small family owned & operated farm implement manufacturing company named for its location in Wallenstein, Ontario, Canada that was sold a few years back to an engineering & fabricating company in the same area.
The Wallenstein area is an old Mennonite (like Amish) area that was known for it's quality workforce, I've never heard anything bad about a Wallenstein product.
The new owners have expanded the product line to include some forestry and power equipment also.
Best of luck. ....

I too am trying to make that decision. A friend has a Walenstein BX62 and is very happy with it. However, the Liberty 6 inch model seems very attractive at K$2 but I can't find any reviews of the Liberty chippers besides what Liberty itself puts out....suspicious?
Any comments on the Liberty chippers would be welcome. ....

I have a Wallenstein BX62 from this outfit...
Woodward Crossings
178 Jackson Hill Rd.
Aaronsburg PA, 16820
Contact Marlin or Karen
Phone: (814) 349-4484
You don't have to do anything other than operate it...
The nice thing about the Wallensteins is they self-feed very nicely...when they start to have problems...it is time to sharpen the blades...and then it is self-feed time again... ....

I personally would go with the Wallenstein as it is made in Canada. The Liberty is made in China. ....

I know the W'stein line as they're made down the road. Costlier than the Chinese ones but work better and longer. ....
