Working on a Long 610 diesel that has not been running for some time. There is fuel to the injector pump but none after that. I suspect the shut-off is stuck in the off position. The shut-off lever on top of the pump moves freely but does not feel as though it is moving the internal switch. Does anyone have a suggestion about freeing up the internal switch? Thanks for any help.

Acting like the pressure relief valve isn't set right, but could also be an obstruction in the return line causing overpressure.

The disc may have stuck to the flywheel. I've run them in high gear w/clutch depressed, & hit the brakes to break them loose. Be careful can damage transmission or loose control if done to hard. Better way is to run a mower or tiller with clutch depressed.

So you were fighting a fuel problem that didn't exist. It was electrical all along.

As for wiring diagrams not being exact, tractors produced over a number of model years don't always match the same diagrams. S models were assembled in Mexico, and wiring inconsistencies are not uncommon.

i decided to stay close to original specs until i get more familiar with the tractor so i went with shell T1 in the engine and transmission and cenex iso 46 in the steering. i will use the shell T1 in the hydraulic for now also. funny thing i now have more money in the tractor than i paid for it! laugh! fixed the AC and balanced the air psi in the tires so it is almost ready for some work. i now understand why there isn't a workshop manual. "you don't need one" i am impressed with the simplicity of design. interesting engine oil filter.

When you say linkage, do you mean the steel plates on the deck where the "J hooks" attach? I did notice on the left side the plates are bent and I had to temporarily use a C clamp to prevent the deck from becoming disconnected from the J hook. Right now I have the deck removed, so some rust holes can be welded and I'm planning on heating up the plate so it can be bent back to the proper shape. Trying to find a used deck/shell for this tractor has been like pulling teeth from a crocodile. I did find one on eBay for $850.00 and it was in worse shape than my deck. On a different note, I ordered some new aftermarket side panels for the tractor but they were for a different 445, I'm guessing for a Zero Turn. The slots where the metal spring clips weren't even close lining up. Of course, JD has obsoleted a lot of the parts I want for this tractor so I'm at the mercy of the aftermarket...

If it has glo plugs pull them and do a compression check. Check both dry and wet. Check fuel filter and fuel vent cap, white smoke indicates unspent fuel while both could indicate timing or internal compression issues.

Some of the claims here are, well, 'imaginative' at best. I run a small fleet of tractors in my operation.

We used to run all GST units but economics and the fact that Kubota only offers the GST transmission in open station format now means all my tractors are now HST units.

In both our 'real world' testing doing construction and contracting, and all the published testing I've seen to-date, the HST means a loss of somewhere between 2 to 5 hp.

Also based on that experience I can tell you that in recent hard work during 92 deg. heat (with the humidex in the upper 90's) and the A/C running none of them got anywhere close to running too hot.

If you are needing a flexible hose at least here NAPA parts stores, make them as do many if not all tractor shops. If you are needing a metal hose or tubing the source gets tight. I would suggest a company who repairs big cylinders or does work on excavators as their boom tubing is rather exposed.

I have a new LS3060 rotary mower that I am setting up for initial use. Manual says it was shipped with no gear oil so I am trying to unscrew the fill cap to do so and it willnot budge. I do not want to bust something and am I missing something? This should notbe that tight.<br>

Yes makes noise at any speed. And I didn’t notice the noise before, or right after changing fluids, but leaking it is, so noise likely low fluid. I did find the leak after parking in the garage, and found its dripping down on the oil tank, so tore it down and no obvious problem stands out after pulling the oil tank out of the way. I am replacing all the o-ring seals and hoping that is it—as I don’t want to split the rear drive and trans away. Hoping I get lucky 🍀?

the best info i can get is from a canadian manual for the T-150K. in the manual it calls for heavy duty 30 or 40 weight engine oil that meets Mil standards in the transmission. i know there are superior oils available today but i am a little concerned that the newer oil might not be compatible with the clutch packs and the rubber orings in the seals and valving. also the gears in this transmission are not a helical design like the more modern equipment. your thoughts????
