There is a part called a thermistor that causes this problem. It does not allow the solenoid to energize long enough to overcome the oil in the solenoid. The thermistor should allow a surge of 20-30 amps when solenoid is activated. The thermistor is located behind the fuse panel. It is a small orange square plastic device that is soldered in the wiring behind the fuse panel. Just unbolt the panel and pull it out as far as you can. Cut the old thermistor out and solder or crimp the new on into place. The part number is LVU10323 and is around 5 bucks. Alot cheaper than a new solenoid.

It is a easy fix and if ur mechanical at all and have small hands it is a fairly easy fix.

I to had a 1500 for 13 years. Traded for a JD.

Lots of Ford hydro guys here. The only thing I know about hydro is do not treat the pedals like a gas pedal. ie: if tractor starts to bogg down let up on the pedal.

Go to dealer and order the operator manual and read it it will have 90% of what you'll need to know to operate and maintain.

Sounds like a uptown project. PEX is a real PITA to work with. I still do not like the champ system but I have to admit they are used in lots of applications.

Me I like PVC it is very forgiving easy to use easy to fix and flexiable enough to bend around stuff and very forgiving to mistakes.

I admire professional copper installations. But I LOVE the cost and ease of my aborations of PVC plumbing.

I think there are several things at play. #1 as Frank said lots of honorable citizens do not trust this DC crowd. #2 so many more people understand that they must take personal responsibility to protect themselves and their families. #3 Lots of us see or believe there will be huge taxes comming on ammo as a way to try a back door to gun control. #4 a few states are trying to something really stupid and put serial # on each bullet and keep records. NY has a fired cartridge requirement costs in the millions for the data base been there for years and has never solved 1 shooting, as I understand it. #5 the concealed carry laws are bringing many women into the fold knowing that a good 380 semi auto levels the playing field when confronted by someone twice their size.

So with all that and 2 wars, there is a strong demand for ammo. My understanding is all plants are running 24/7 trying just to keep up.

There is lots more... but... I'LL START RANTING!

You are right I can live with it if it parked outside. Its been like this for 3-4 years. Problem is I park inside by floor drain during winter. This winter it parked 8-10 days or so at a time it makes a mess runs into drain. Thought about a pan under it with papers in it but would have to move pan when come in from snow removal then put back when tractor drained of snow.

I really don't care about the oil getting into drain either.

Dogs walk under tractor paws get all oily and they track thru house. 6 dogs currently. All used!

My understanding of problem is gas padel got stuck under floor mat and has only had 8 issues? I can not see a concern. Pay attention to the floor mat DUH! But lets blame somebody else because were are stupid!

Talk about wages I get a real beef. CIC (Communist in Chief) wants any project over 25 million to have union only workers on it to include sub contractors and material suppliers. WTF is that about except to force small companies to unionize to participate.

My next vehicle is a Mercedes I think.

Our big slurry pumps only have 1 switch. It is a Square D and it triggers a relay because of voltage. But essentially is is a on/off like a light switch. Just a rod on a float thru 2 guides and 2 Set screw to trigger switch on or off.

I like kthompson's thought. Me thinks shaft could be slipping. More likely throw out forks slip or pin shear. Possible pressure plate comming apart. Sounds like a small tractor worth hanging onto.

You can not buy anything to replace for less than a grand and you have a piece of junk rusting in the yard in the off season.

Bottom line. Even if it cost a grand to fix you'd lose that on trade anyway or get back if fixed.

I used a straight shift tractor non live PTO for years to blow snow. I use gear that handle snow easy take a little longer. As I came to end of push or where I want to stop I never touch clutch but would slide shifter into neutral let blower clear clutch back into gear and go. As long as transmission is not loaded heavy you should not damage anything. But if tractor working hard to move tractor you stand chance breaking tooth off gear.

Check under tractor for a loose wire connection. I'd pull each connection apart spray with electrical spray (wd40 works also) just to make sure you do not miss something that looks connected.

A couple years ago I went to MN to pick up a 68 Mustang fastback for one of the owners. The shop here works on it when they have spare time (no other work) so he gets a huge labor saving. It was stripped like you see on overhaulin put on a rotissary. I do not know for sure how much invested total but just body work and new floor pan plus lots other over 25K so far. The rest of the goodies will be another 20K+. The car is still in the shop. It may come out this summer.

Read post 4 times. I think, if it is acting like mine, there is a linkage issue. I now, most of the time, know just as soon as I move lever I can feel wether it went in gear Fwd or rev or not. I have to reclutch and bump the lever again.

Sometimes it cause me to growl but most of time I just deal with it and move past. Mine is in the linkage and it has not caused me enough stress to rip apart.

Systems different. Mine turn the key to on and push in. The glow plug light comes on if outside I heat for 10 seconds and once tracor start If rough idle will push key in until smooths out.

I really think Murf hit it in the first post of his. Start with your meter in the house at the source the circuit breakers. Check the breaker the connections then start down the broken wire path.
