what are the owners feelings on their CMM tiller. I'm looking for a 42 - 48 inch unit. I see they have raised the price pretty good, and are going to be selling a sub-compact unit in the spring.

Last year I bought a 42" model and could not be much happier with it. I have used it to do some re-seeding around the house and I also used it to do some garden tilling for some extra cash. The soil around here varies from sandy type to some with clay and the tiller breaks it lose very well. I am very happy with the tiller and highly recommend buying from them. Since the price of steel seems to be going up higher and higher, buy now. ....

CMM.com takes you to the Zeis website for the Coordinate Measuring Machines. Also very cool in their own right. But not very good for tilling your soil. ....

Well all you multi tractor guys and Carter & Carter, I really have to say I'm sorry for asking about CMM tiller. That was really stupid of me. But the guys at Carl Zeiss have seen an increase in web sight hits.
So with that said, any of you multi tractor boys have any comments on the CCM tiller? Or do you just like poke-in fun at people that screw up? ....

I didn't think I was poking fun at you but I apologize if that impression was given. I haven't heard much about CCM tillers but what I have heard is generally positive. I did price them once but the shipping made the cost prohibitive compared to a local purchase. ....

Last year when I bought mine..even with shipping it was still better than any known name brand locally, (TSC/KK, WOODS, ETC). Since steel prices are rising, nothing is getting cheaper. I've ran the hell out of mine and being gear driven I know that it will last longer than anything else that is twice the cost. (BTW, I was not paid for this endorsement.) ....

Seems pricey to me actually First Choice is another mfg. with a solid reputation. I have a 48" and it rocks! one pass and I'm done...There are a few sources on this site and others who carry First Choice. 48" are selling under $1k
typically..

I re-read there specifications and they mention reverse rotation but its unclear how its done. If its a true reverse rotation unit, then thats a good feature. Most reverse rotations I saw had a lever to rotate and away you go. They are considerable more money however..

Ducati,
A point of clarification needed:
Were you referring to the Howse 48" tiller I posted the site to?
Your RE: to "First Choice" Brings up everything from haircuts to stationary neither will work on my Kubota B7510!
Can you link please?
The Howse 48" Tiller is available to me for considerably less $$(kinda rolled into my RTV 900) and I'm not sure what is required to reverse it yet! It is heavy and only 200# lighter than my Back Hoe so obviously not a problem other than would need to leave the FEL mounted or an other front weight in my opinion.

Archdean,
First you clarify then I will clarify ! :)~
Actually the thread was about CCM providing tillers which are from Turkey (nothing wrong with that)..First choice is another brand made in Italy, and offered elsewhere. You mentioned Howse, and they appear to be somewhat more substantial in heft and price after reading the spec's.
So if you were answering the originals posters question with your question, and I answered your question with my own question without actually answering the posters question. So what is your question, since I no longer have a question....:)~

tamanaco,
When I wrote
"Whoops, sorry, I thought this thread was talking about CCM tillers, not CMM tillers. Never heard of CMM."
it was legitimate statement. For all I know there is a company called CMM that makes tillers. There are thousands of small companies that make tractor implements and sell them, often to local buyers. Usually when I poke fun I put a smiley or LOL after it. ....

AV8R,
I am here letting the public give information out about CCM tillers. The tillers quality and value will speak for themselves. We are also introducing a line of tillers made for the Sub-Compact and smaller compact tractors. These tillers are designed to need a little less PTO HP to operate and yet give great results. Check out our new CR Series tillers available in Spring 2005. ....

I was out looking at the website and saw the new line of CR tillers. What's the difference? Lighter gage steel in construction? I see 24 tines in 40 inches for the CR-40 vs 24 tines in 34" for the MR-100. Is there a difference in tine diameter or just spacing? I was considering buying the MR-120 last fall, but they were out of stock. Now I see the price increase considerable. Haven't received reply yet about CR series pricing. FYI, I have a Kubota bx2200 ....
