turf tires and rims for b7800

i've recently purchased a 5 year old b7800 with Ag1 tires which suit me great for fields and woods but I'll need turf tires and rims for lawn mowing. They're a bit hard to come by used but there is a set of turfs and rims for a l3400 in my area. The fronts are 25x8.50x14 on the L3400 whereas the fronts on the B7800 they are 24x8.50x14; the rears are both 13.6x16. So my question are: are the rims the same on both and will those tires and rims from the L fit the B?

I can't get a straight answer from the dealer I called.

thanks

I'm sure there are named standards for rim-holes but I'm not familiar with them. There are bolt-hole templates, but I've only seen them in tire shops. The simplest would be to get the seller to hold a piece of paper against the rim and use a crayon, pencil, or poke-through to mark the location of the holes, and then test that against yours.

There's a big Yanmar dealer that has a sale on turfs, and might know the 'bota pattern. But shipping from Texas won't be cheap.

Finally, there are adaptors, either factory or custom made, if you want to look into them. Good luck.

Short of adapters, you might consider having a ggod welding shop cut out the known good centers of some surplus rims (donors) and have them installed in the other set of rims of your choice. Gemplers.com distributes wheel blanks for this purpose where you can mix and match bolt patterns to wheels.

I would be concerned about the size ratio from front to rear.
That has to be correct or you risk doing damage to tractor or premature wear on the tires. From the info you gave you are putting larger tires on the front with the same size rears. Look at the static loaded radius of what you have compared to what you want to put on.

Sorry but I can't think of a set that would work, you might try going back to the B-2150.

Presuming you don't need 4WD for cutting grass, it really doesn't matter what size front tires (or rears for that matter) you run.

You just can't use 4WD until you get back to the correct ratio between fronts and backs.

Best of luck.

I'm sure you've figured this out, but you can use mismatched F & R sizes in 4WD if you strictly confine that use to slippery conditions.

Excellent points as to aspect and load ratios. I had noticed that the l3400 had a turf that appeared to be the same dimension but I'm told the rims are different. So I'm pretty well stuck with wheels from the 2710,2910,3030, and 3200; I may have found a used set which is way better than new at full price (ouch).

I'd rather be sure of the correct size than have to remember not to use 4 wheel drive occasionally. thanks
