Hopefully the picture came through. There is some rust but that is why I was able to buy it right.

Cutter,

You're not alone. I've tried posting pictures to this board many times, with no success. I finally gave up on the idea.

After fixing the link above for Cutter, I would point out that in order to link to one of your pictures from your photo album, or elsewhere on the internet, it is critical that you identify the actual photograph you want using a full working link address.

Cutter, in the above instance, the problem was the link was pointing to your entire album, not just picture # 7 (which is I hope the one you intended to use).

Joel, or anyone else having problems, let me know what you were trying to post and maybe I can see where you went astray.

Best of luck. ....

Cutter does that have the foot pedals for slewing?

What it cost, the year and hours? ....

Murf,

Thanks for fixing the picture. What I did was host the picture on ImageShack, that did not work with a direct link (tried a few days ago. Yesterday I went to my album, opened the picture of my tractor, copied the link and posted it in the Picture/Image box. Did not work. Am pasting the address in the wrong place Murf? Or is there another method within the album page to directly link to a picture that is getting by me (not hard to do)?

Earthworks,

That is a 2000 with 2700 hours. The cab and especially the doors are rusty as it was used for snow removal and caught a lot of salt. I have about 24k in the machine which includes all new rubber and a complete servicing, delivered to my door. In addition, I had them add a block heater and agree to give me two new doors at dealer cost should I decide I want to do that. Hopefully when I am done with her in a year or two I can get my money back :)

Almost forgot. It has JD controls much to my chagrin. I am partial to the foot pedals. ....

Cutter, always happy to help, the mistake was an easy one to fix. You had pointed the picture link to the page showing your entire album, not just to one specific picture, in this case your picture # 7.

So your link looked kind of like this;

(but edited so big brother doesn't reject it)

"blah, blah, blah, tractor/viewPhoto.pl?userid=cutter"

The simplest way to do it is to select the picture you want from your album so it's enlarged in the main part of the screen, then click the RIGHT mouse button, and go down the list to, and click on "properties" and a little box will pop up showing a bunch of info, the line "location" in Firefox, or "address (url)" in IE. Just highlight and copy the address or URL into the "Picture / Image URL:" box at the bottom of the message posting window.

Best of luck. ....

I see what occurred, or rather what did not :)

I did have the full-screen view of the picture and assumed the address box at the top of the page pointed to its location, my bad. When changing pictures I see that the address bar continues to point to the album and not the individual shots while the "properties" does indeed do that. Most likely that is a mistaken assumption others are making as well. Now I can help them!

What is more puzzling to me is why ImageShack did not work. I will need to give that another try, perhaps the file was too large.

Art, the JD controls are backward to me. I have operated almost every configuration out there but those. The swing on the left stick screws me up. Getting used to it though.

To add to what Murf said the first step is to right mouse click on the image you want to copy th link from then:

1) In IE when you go to the properties box you have to make sure that you don't get duped into thinking that the link is fully displayed, for long links you have to drag your mouse from "http" all the way to the right to expose some hidden text until you see ".jpg" or ".gif" at the end.

2)In Firefox you can just click on "Copy Link Location" to copy the address.

3)When pasting into the image link in Tractorpoint you need to make sure that you have only one "http" in the link. I put one in there already to show you that your link address must begin with "http" but it must be removed or pasted over.

On you your boat link you were able to get it displayed but what you did was copy it as an "anchor html tag" in additiona to the "http:" link. Surprisingly it displyed though it had some trailing html errors along with it.

I corected the link as it displays now.

Sorry if this is confusing;)

Dennis,

That was strange. I used ImageShack to reduce the size and create an image for "forums". From there I pasted it into the picture link box here. I always check for the double http// as I do this quite often and many places that occurs. When I first posted the picture, I had the small one and the large one, not sure if you edited that out.
