Got a new B3030 this spring and from a functionality POV it has been great. However, I cannot sit in the seat more than 1/2 an hour without the start of severe discomfort. I am at a lost as what to do. For 20K unit I would have thought more attention would have been paid to the operator's comfort. Other than this it has proven to be a great tractor. But, I could not recommend it to anyone, just because of the seat. Anyone have similar experiences??

I got a replacement for my BX24 seat but did have to pay $50 for it. Kubota notified dealers but not owners of a deal on replacement seats. They have "more room" in the rump area so don't make you slide off like the ones that they had put on the BX series. Those seats were like a "lazy L" and you could not lean back or you just slid forward due to the angle of the bottom of the seat combined with the leaned back top of the seat. ....

The Kubota Product Information Bulletin (PIB) was issued to dealers. In any case, the bottom line is that Kubota heard customer complaints and designed a much more comfortable seat as a replacement; it's now standard on new B/BX production. Replacement did require some action on your part (talk to your dealer) and the customer response has been huge so it has taken dealers (those that placed orders) quite some time to actually get the seats. I waited close to 3 months, but boy was it worth the wait! I posted a fairly detailed comparison between the old & new seat with pictures and my installation experience. Cost seems to be dependent on your dealer. Most people have found their dealer offering it as a free replacement or in the $25 range, but apparently some dealers care a little less about their customers and are charging more. Sorry that pictures aren't easier to post here, so if you message me I can send more info to you about my experience. ....

My 2630 has the same problem; uncomfortable seat. My dealer is jackassing me around. Kubota has been no help either. What "other site" are you referencing that has pictures, links, etc.? ....

I know that most folks want their seat replaced for free, but there are some really good aftermarket seats available if the Kubota seat doesn't work out.

As for the B-series tractor seats, my dad's dealer had the replacement for him in about a week. I don't know if it's appropriate here on the forum, but "kudos" to the Kubota dealer in Dothan Alabama. Really customer-satisfaction oriented folks! ....

Thank you, Dennis and the others who responded. I was able to download the PIB and have it in hand to take to my dealer. I guess the ball is in his court at this time.
Thanks again
Fritz ....

Thanks Dennis for posting my pictures so that those with the B/BX seat issues can compare. The obviously cushier one on the left is the new replacement. You should also note that the bottom is not angled downward on the new one as it was on the original so it prevents that constant sliding forward feeling that was so tiring with the old seat. The much more contoured bottom and back along with the thicker padding make this new seat much more comfortable. You will sit a little higher due to the thicker padding, but due to the softness of the padding maybe not as high as the picture would lead you to think. ....

I never really thought about it, but now that I read this thread I realize I'm quite lucky, the seat on my L4310 has a movable seat back like in a car, from very vertical to quite reclined, all the tractors with cabs get that, and a cloth seat at that too!!

No more getting a wet backside on rainy days, or heavy dew mornings!!

Best of luck. ....

The new BX seat is decent(the old one was a disaster). Still a little far back for me at 5'8" but at least it is not angled on the back and the base like a recliner. Just a little far to reach the steering if I sit back in the seat. Maybe I will somehow try to move it further forward on the mount. Need about 2 inches to make it right for me but doubt I can do more than an inch withoug making the seat cover the front seat release. ....
