Can someone give a rundown of the recent models/series of John Deere CUT's
My first and current CUT is a 1990 JD 755(A Yanmar I belive), as a newcomer, I am trying to figure out how models/series run.
I am dreaming about a larger (30hp) CUT, but cannot figure out how/why model #s are designated as to hp/model#. A larger version of my 755 is a 955, makes sense, but of course no longer made.
I guess my question in part, is how are model #s are applied and why are the "series" always changing,it troubles me that they are discontinued every few years, Marketing?
I was looking tward a 4310, but I guess that has also been phased out-----------
Thanks

Click on Specs at the top of this page and peruse the JD models. If you're looking to make sense of marketing it will be a fruitless exercise. Although for the very latest series they did survey their customers to see what they wanted model numbers to represent. ....

I think the numbering system is as clear as Kubota's. Which is not saying much.
The went from the 750 and 755 numbers to the 4000 series, to the 4000 ten series to the 3 and 4 thousand and 20. Naturally they brought back the 750 series as slight modified 90's. They also brought back the X55 series (light weight tractor for lawn) as the 2000. Clear as mud right.
If they keep playing with the numbers we will need a playbook to determine which tractor we are talking about as they will be sure to repeat them.
I certainly think Kioti's sustem is more logical. ....

Repeat? We are there already. There are two 2520 models, the current CUT and a farm tractor from the 70's. ....
