Purchased a 6mo old 3530 hydro with 300cxfel and 72"mmm. Now need to buy a rear blade to grade yard and take care of 600' of gravel driveway. I am leaning toward a 72" box blade. Will this be too wide for a 3000lb tractor? I know it has the power, but concerned with traction. Have 4wd and r4's. Also, I have an old blade that could be modified to fit the fel. Can you buy quick tatch brackets to weld to an old blade?

Your blade should be wide enough to cover your tracks. A 72" sounds about right. Traction? Depends on your soil and ballasting. You should be fine on gravel. I think your JD dealer would sell you quick attach brackets. ....

I use a pulverizer for leveling and works very well on a gravel driveway. If you have not tried one you may want to think about it. I haredly ever use my box blade unless it snows...and here in the foothills of NC that is not very much. ....

I have a JD 4310 (32 hp) and use a 6 ft box blade with out and difficulty with R4's. I can get traction limited if I get the box blade really filled up with rock. Then I just raise the 3 pt up a touch and I'm off and running again. ....
