I am a tiny bit concerned that the 790 will be a bit weak in the lift capacity department, but until I have the problem, I don't know if that's realistic or not. This is the first tractor I've owned. I've borrowed and rented, and spent time on my uncle's farm as a kid forty years ago. The first tractor I operated was a hard working JD Model B on a large Nebraska Corn, hogs, and feeder cattle farm.

The service tech says it takes a while to remove all of the debris and 10 hours is too quick. He went on to say if the tractor is used only a little during the winter, moisture can buildup in the oil. Hence the reason for an annual oil change in the spring.

On the NH board there are several NH employees who could do a better job of answering this question and I, such as brokenarrow and oneace. I would think all manufacturers would be similar. Dave.

Thanks for the info and web links, I will check them out. My exposure to T1's, SONET, etc is communications between electrical substations and SCADA dispatching centers.

SCADA stands for Supervisory Control And Data Acquisition. This is computer monitoring and control systems for the electric utility industry.

At present we use a communication protocol called DNP3 and communicate over a 24ct single mode fiber using 10/100mbps Ethernet. Some of our runs are home runs, where others access a SONET hub or a splice enclosure for transmission back to the dispatching center.

You may want to consider an engine block heater. I plug in my 4410 about an hour or so before I use it which GREATLY aids and reduces warm up time and cold start load on the battery.

The Deere FEL manual actually specifies filled tires and wheel weight or a rear box weight. Another option for filling tires is to have them filled with "Rim Guard". More or less windshield washer fluid. It is noncorrosive and fairly cheap. The Deere wheel weights are mighty pricey and EZ Weights may be an option (I did not see these mentioned in this thread but wouldn't be the 1st time I missed something) but I am not sure you will be able to mount as much wheel weight as the OEM's but you can buy the weights at Walmart for MUCH less or at a yard sale. As already mentioned; an implement on the rear hitch is a good option too. Between the 3; you should be able to work out a good compromise.

I agree with Mark's point. The 4310 steers about as tight as I can imagine would be useful. In my opinion, the eHydro has some advantages over the HST such as Load Match and cruise contro. I think the 430 FEL is great loader and it VERY easy to remove and install. In the end, buy the machine you like best. I would be partial to the Deere but both seem to be fine tractors.

I am so excited there is a large package under my tree it is green very heavy and I think it is a box scraper for my tactor. I just do not know how she got it up the steps and in under the tree in our living.<br>

The top link attach point on the 4100-4110 is buried under the seat/Rops bracket. My PHD jammed into the frame when I lifted it up.

Watch out for this problem and you should be fine.

Can't comment on the Valby although I've heard they're a good machine also. I did have a Patu DC 65 Hydraulic feed, good machine low to the ground easy to feed. You will have problems with any small chipper when feeding real hairy material like x-mas trees, too many limbs close together clog it up. You have to back it out,cut most of the limbs off and feed the stock and then a few limbs at a time.

The only reason I sold it is because I'm a little physically challanged and have a hard time dragging the brush to it. Now I have a stand-alone machine (see my pic's #2,4,6) and feed it with the backhoe, it will take anything I can get in it under 8 or 9 inch's and don't have to DE-limb anything.

Thanks everyone for your replies. Art, I agree that I should watch this carefully. It is easy to take off - I will do that periodically. Yooper, yep - painting would be a good idea - maybe black to match the underside of the tractor. 2ndHand - yes I went to the dealer to ask about the rental upgrade. Murf, when I ripped the wire out I was chopping a row of brush that was too high (getting rid of a brush pile) so I was too aggressive. Hardwood - yep its a simple solution but not perfect.

2ndHand, my dealer is frustrating - he was talking me out of buying the rental kit - he said he never heard of anyone needing it - they are always busy and rushed - they sell millions of lawnmowers. Plus it was expensive and came with more parts than you needed. So I just dropped the idea of getting the kit.

Icynene informed me that with their system you can scale down the size of the heating and air conditioning units to less expensive models that will maintain the same comfort level as the larger more expensive higher fuel consuming models required for Fiberglass cellos and other type insulations.<br>
This factor alone could more than off set the price difference between Icynene and other insulations.<br>

Did you have to do that on the purloins too or did you use nails to attach the plywood to the purloins that were short enough that they did not penetrate through the purloins ?
Bending or clinching the nails through plywood may be OK but I don't have plywood I used OSB instead.
Since OSB is much softer than plywood I'm afraid if I clinch the nails it will pull the siding out of line and cause it to buckle or become wavy.

JD has unveiled the 4000 Twenty, and now the 3000 Twenty in Europe, 4 models. What "sizes" are left to be replaced in the current lineup of 4000 Tens? Will we be getting a new 2000 Twenty line up too? If so any specualtion on sizes and announcement times?

I am curious as to how fast a rate of lift that my 4410 ehydro should have. It seems that it is rather slow regardless of load and engine rpm. Is there an adjustment for lift rate? I know that the drop adjustment works fine.The book says to check the rockshaft filter however my tractor does not have one. Any suggestions?

Oh boy, sounds just like the strike on IH, almost four years before they were bought by Tenneco just before filing bankrupcy. There are still many tractors out there that don't fit the dates so go ahead if you need one.
