Welcome aboard, it's always good to get some new blood in the mix here.
I wouldn't want to even guess about the cost of a hoe now, I've had mine for probably ten years and don't remember what it cost them.
I've been a fan of frame mount hoes rather than three point. As auerbach pointed out most three point hitches weren't designed to handle the super rough use a babkhoe can give them.
Any attachment that is mounted to the frame of a tractor like a loader or backhoe subframe attachment should in my opinion be of the same brand as the tractor.
The attachment has been designed to mount in the proper places on the tractor, the hydraulics of the attachment are designed to match the flow rates, pressures, etc of the tractor, while a different brand attachment may not fasten to the tractor in the most favorable place so far as the stress on the tractor frame can handle.
Three point mounted equipment can be of any brand being they aren't fastened directly to the tractor frame.

OK, here's one for starters.
I got three "Shop Cats" born about June first that run all over the place in the shop. Now, I probably have more of those red plastic Folgers coffee cans than the Folgers company full of every size screw, nail, bolt, fasteners, and all sorts of usless junk.
Ok, here is the problem, these cats are the most well fed cats in eastern Iowa, but if I leave the lid off one of the coffee cans for more than a minute or two they dive in grabbing a mouth full of screws or whatever like they are starving or something and string them all over the place. I have to run a magnet over the sawdust before sweeping up.
Solution?????

I'm almost learning how to spell in Canadian now, Like Ploughs, Catalogues, Beer, oh I guess they spell that the same as us. I wasn'r sure for a while if he was Murf or Smurf, you know like "Papa Smurf", but he's pretty sharp anyway.

You asked Harvey about why people are stocking up on ammo. I can't answer for Harvey, but yes since the new admistration won the election I've probably bought ten times more ammo than I had in the prior ten years combined. I don't have a large collection of high dollar guns, just farmer type sporting guns that would serve me well for personal protection or if the need should come to harvest some game for food use. I really don't want to use them for either of those reasons but as the old saying goes, "When you're up to your butt in alagators it kinda late to think about draining the swamp." Frank.

Fuel level shouldn't have any bearing long as the outlet is covered by fuel. Being it ran for an hour before stalling I'm pretty sure a new fuel filter will get you going. Check your owners manual if you aren't familliar with changing the filter. Some fuel systems need to be bled after the filter change and some don't, again check your owners manual.

Wow, too many dogs to put overshoes on all of them. So maybe a pan with some oil dri and a stick to push it in and out with. I've had good luck with the JD sealant on non-gasket things, but Murf is right, things need to be squeaky clean.

I won't throw a dog in this fight, I think most of the old timers around here know my feelings about cars sold or built here by overseas by owned corporations. None of them sent a sympathy card to Ford or GM.
My parents bougth a new 1961 Chevy with a 283 four barrel. There was a throttle return spring that would catch on something holding the throttle wide open, in those days you could cut the key switch and still steer, so Dad fixed it himself. That would be a lawyers dream come true today.

I'm always open to sometning new, so we could arange an air drop next time you fly down Iowa way, my frozen chisel plowing might be a bit tough on your landing gear.
I always wanted to get into the sawmill business, but had to make a choice when the furniture production got to be a serious busines. Sometimes you spread yourself too thin and don't have the time to do anything right.
I did see that on Discovery and another one about somewhere in Europe they are finding centurys old logs in peat bogs that they are recovering and selling at unbelieveably high dollars.
Trends come and go in furniture woods but seem to always gravitate back to the oaks. I still have a good supply of red, white, and burr, some flat sawn some quarter sawn, plus quire a bit of cherry, maple, elm, sycamore, walnut, etc.
What we call burr oak you may call by another name, there seem to be dozens of different oaks.
I bought some walnut logs once and had sawn and was kind of amazed at how much different the coloring is in different logs, so another reason to buy from a sawmill they will let you sort for color in most specie if you buy enough volume.

I'm not familliar with how the Masseys are put together, but if the shift from lo to hi ranges is controled by a lever of some sort it might be that a pin or key has been sheared somewhere in the linkage. Or if it is a power shift from lo to hi with hydraulics controling a clutch there may be a clog or a kink in a line to the clutch. Just throwing out ideas. Sometimes it can be simple and we kick ourselves for not seeing it the first time in. Hope it's warm where you are working on it. Frank.

Do your loader hydraulic lines have quick disconnect couplers in them for removal of the loader? If so one of them may have a weak or broken spring behind the ball. Try replacing both halves of the quick coupler with a pipe coupler or a quick coupler known to be good. Frank.

I have a power beyond on my 4300 Deere for a Deere 48 hoe. I'm not going to tell ou how to install it, it's just been too long ago since I put mine on. Basicly what it does is take the oil flow going to the three point lift arms and diverting it to back hoe use by uncoupling the hose from one port and reconnecting it to another. Get some instructions from a Deere tech who has did this, it can be done wrong. I do know that there is no bypass valve from the pump when the power beyond hose is'nt commecetd to ethier the three point or the back hoe, so do not start the engine wnen in this situation.

Probably some limited profanity would be justified for starters, but I've dumped the filters and put the white jug stuff in. I didn't have any 911 handy, and it did work. This was on a Case 1070 farm tractor, then dumped the rest of the jug in the fuel tank. It kind of coughed a nd gagged the rest of the day till things cleared out.

Yes, it seemed the moisture in the vent air would freeze to the inside of the vent pipe above the roof line till it was blocked. The train whisle sound did stop when a vent froze shut, but we could then smell sewer gas in the house. This happened several times the first winter, and which one froze seemed to depend on the direction of the wind. After the trap was put in stopping the free flow of air from one vent to tne other it hasn't happened again in 13 winters since. Frank.

Glad you got it going. I never had an engine with glow plugs, but I'm sure with an engine designed for them they need to work. A good robust cranking speed does wonders for any engine, especially a diesel.

Three years ago this month I had an accident that has left me dependent on a walker to get around so the quick coupler has did me a lot of good. Granted you need to get off to connect the PTO, but with the engine off you can turn the PTO shaft on the tractor to get the splines lined up.
It's pretty much a must to have the machine on a level surface to hook it up to the quick coupler otherwise things don't go too well, just park the machine on the level and things go lots better for hook up.
Before I got hurt I thought nothing of muscleing a machine around by hand or with a pry bar to line up the hitch pins, but that all changed in a split second.
A couple years ago Deere made some noise about an automatic PTO hookup system to go with their "I Match" quick coupler system, but I've never saw one.

Acording to the "Tractor Data" website your tractor weighs about 1400 lbs., so being a two wheel drive you probably have a front axle weight of 5-600 lbs. I don't know what the blower weighs but if your three pt, will lift it ok you might want some front weights or a front end loader for safety and to help with steering.

If yours is a diesel then it is likely nearly identical to one an uncle of mine had. He only had it about a year before he passed away. I sold it for my aunt to a local man who still mows a good sized, probably 4-5 acre lot with it. Not too long ago he commented that all he has ever spent is just normal maintenece.
