Let's pretend my wife has misplaced the key to my 4110. There is no JD Dealer close by. Can I purchase a key elsewere or will I have to send off to a Dealer? A locksmith I know says if I have a Blank he can cut one.

Find a rental place that has JD products, they usually have LOTS of spares around.

The 4110 and 4115 share the same key and maybe the 2210.
I believe the other models use a different key.
I doubt you will find a key blank that will work. You are probably going to have your dealer pop one in the mail to you. ....

As DRankin implied, the dealer could take a key right out of the ignition of a 4110 or 4115 and send it to you. They are not keyed with unique tumblers like a car. At least this is what my dealer told me. ....

I'm calling the Dealer today, and I really laid the law down to my wife. The next time she washes and waxs my Tractor not to loose the Key. I really hate to get tough with her but after 53 years you would think she learn.

My guess is that the key (no pun intended) to this whole situation is that Bob wants us to pretend his wife misplaced that key...
So he will probably have to pretend that he has her sweep out the shop for a few months, Then hope she does not see these posts implicating her or he will have to pretend he is sleeping in his nice warm bed while he is actually bunking out in his shop. ....

Good advice Big Pete...in fact I'd have her cut n split a few cords a wood while your at it no sense in lettin her get away with this kind of thing there's just no tellin where it might lead...next thing you know she'll be down gettin her library card and then you'll be in some tall weeds for sure. ....

I NEVER loose things like that BUT I "temporarily misplaced" my key to the 4410 awhile back. ;O) I called my dealer and they mailed me a few extra sets of keys and some cool Deere key chains. ....
