I am looking at a New Holland TC25D 4x4 tractor with front end loader, heated cab and 7' front snow blade. In reviewing a number of posts regarding this model my main concern is power. I will be pulling a 5' bush hog to mow approximately 6 acres (pasture) plus general yard work using the front end loader (moving gravel, dirt...). Is this size tractor up to the task or should I hold out for more horsepower. The unit is a 1999 with 1600hrs but looks in excellent shape. Listed for $13,200.Any feedback is appreciated as I have never had an New Holland.

Shiprek,
That tractor will certainly do the job, but I believe the seller is asking about 2000 too much for it.
There are many tractors in that size available.....and for way less than he's asking for that one.
I've posted a link below that may help you get a better feel for the market value of the tractor you're looking at.

Thank you Joel,
I was getting a similar impression. I have been pricing units around the country. A newer (2001) unit (w/o the cab, snow blade) but roughly 1/2 the hours is available locally for approximately $11000. I appreciate your quick response. I may call to look at the tractor tomorrow but in clear conscience not offer the asking price.
Kind Regards,
Rick ....

shiprek, if this will be negotiations where they will meet you and you don't want to blow it by offering too low, will offer one suggestion. If you have a friend who is willing to help out have them go with you. But you be the ride along friend. You can point out thoughts about the tractor to your friend and such but not be the buying. Let him offer low price and if he makes the seller made that is different than if you do. You could even speak up and say you know Joe if you don't want it at so and so price I might be interested.
The other way is to say to them politely don't know, based upon what I my feelings right now hate to even make an offer. Just feel it might be so low it would insult you.
Also don't miss when they tell you the price your again polite reply is something along the line of no doubt it is a nice machine but sadly $3,00 or what ever outside of my limit. Had to ask for it is a nice or good looking machine. Really do like it.
Then you do something my wife says is not polite...shut up. The quite weighs heavy. It can be your friend. But if you keep on talking you will not get that price. You have to be willing to walk away if not, well. Then don't be dumb,if worth the price and more and especially if buying from a dealership who will service it. You might find the support worth more than any price give. ....

I have the 33hp version of that one. That cab is NOT made for it---it's from a 70's era machine. The cab made for it goes over the ROPS and is mainly made of glass.
Mine, new in '02 listed at $16,200 w/o any attachments--BUT has all the bells and whistles ---hydro and supersteer, 4wd. I got Ford Employee discount pricing which is whjat the dealer paid for it for $13,200 inc. Tax.
At 1600 hours you're about 1/3 the expected life I feel. 600 hours per year is what commercial equipment expects to be used. ....

Thank you Earthwrks, You indicate this is off a 70's vintage machine? I have not decided to go look at it yet but will certainly look this point over. The tractor is about 2 hrs away and the weather is supposed to turn ugly this weekend so not sure if I will get a chance to look at it in the very near future or not. Thank you for your feedback. ....
