5420deer...You do not state what failed. Was it the clutch, pto shaft, gears, gear box, or bearings? Do you have any pictures? Were you forcing it to till with extra weight and speed? The pto shaft should never be more than 35deg when tiller is lifted and should only be run at 540rpm. Was it filled with grease when new? Did the clutch slip and how tight was the clutch adjusted?

Have you removed the 2 black panels near your shins? They have 6 screws (use a 13mm socket).

Neighbor has a WD that acted that way. We finally found a piece of brass shim stock floating around in the fuel tank. It would work its way to the fuel outlet and plug the hole going to the filter. Empty your tank and look inside.

A diesel is not a ignition fired type engine. You have to cut the fuel flow. There is a fuel shut off solenoid on the fuel pump that is suppose to do that for you. Normally, with the key off, the solenoid, under spring pressure, will shut it off. Are you getting power to the solenoid after the key is off? Is the solenoid stuck in the energized position?

Your owners manual should go through the fuel bleed procedure. I don't have your tractor but here goes. It sounds like the fuel pump you are talking about is the low pressure lift pump. You have to bleed all the air out all the way to the high pressure injector pump on the engine. Near where the fuel line fastens to the injector pump, there would be a bleed screw. It sounds like you would have to turn your lift pump on while you are cracking open the bleed screw. You should see the filter bowl filling first then come out of the bleed screw. Hope this helps.

I looked up runaway diesel videos on youtube and I could see where that would be a scary situation. I then found a thread about a tractor like my NH TC33d going into runaway mode by sucking in hydraulic oil in the air cleaner snorkel. One of those 90deg rubber cooler hoses started spraying and the intake sucked it in until it ran out of oil. See link below.<br>

I know a guy that just had a hillside cleared of trees and planted in grass because of new roadwork. I'm real gutsy when it comes to driving on hills but this looks scary, like about 45 deg with a long ways down before you stop (100ft+ while going through a hillside flower garden area). He had dealers bring out tractors and ztr's and most would not even unload the mower to try it. What he ended up with is a Cub Cadet Z Force that looks like a longer ztr, front wheels are steering controlled and the rears are like a ztr. It uses a steering wheel too. He NEVER mows it when it is wet.

Did you bleed the fuel lines since you ran it out of fuel? Do that first. Sometimes last resort is full throttle while cranking until it fires.

I have a Stihl FS85 Brushcutter with the big tiller bars. If you are maneuvering around objects much, they are a pain. The big bars work good for back and forth sweeping motion. I also have a steel chisel blade that works good for the bigger, woody stuff. Art, which blade works best for plain weeds and knee high grass?

First off, be sure to test drive the units as you would use them on your farm. I use my Kubota RTV900 on hills all the time and with the Hydro trans, hills are very controllable. I also use it to position hay wagons next to the elevator so the creeping ability gives me the control I need. So, go out and drive them first!

The nuts you are talking about are on a Boomer? The plastic around the nuts on my TC33D has been cracked for a LONG time. At some point I'm sure I will have to use some epoxy and thread inserts. If it all breaks away, I think a person could form up the area with epoxy, hold the panel in place, drill location holes, then drill larger for thread inserts.

I was able to find a set of near new steel wheels with hub caps, lugs, and tpms for a great price. It is the wifes car and it is nice not to have the tpms warning going off when she drives.
