I purchased a used Kuhn EL25 48" tiller (1988) from the dealer I bought my tractor, bx22, and want to know if I paid a fair price for it. It is mechanically sound and the tines have about 50% wear left.
Paint is faded and ther is some surface rust, (will sandblast and repaint soon). I paid 800.00. And want to know what differentiates tillers from each other. The prices new vary considerably. The list on the current model of tiller I bought is around 2,000.00. But there are a lot of rigs out there for half of that new.

My understanding is that those low priced rigs have Chinese gearboxes and are of questionable, or at least spotty quality. ....

As a dealer I feel it is my job to be able to service and keep the machines we sell working with service and replacement parts. Being in buisness for two generations and know some machines you can not get parts for as they are no longer in buisness makes us look that much harder to find good lines with longevity. It is inevitable that we say no from time to time but our preference is Yes we can! I as a dealer try to stay away from short lines that do not nor can not show a good runnning record. To answer your question, we sell Kuhn and you paid a fair price. ....

Ironpeddler, maybe you missed the fact that he already bought a tiller. If you want to advertise you might be honest about it and pay Dennis for an ad. ....
