I am considering a BX22, but am question the capabilities of the loader and backhoe. Can anyone share some experiences of what they were able or not able to do. I was told that the loader would not be able to lift a full bucket of sand. Is that True? Any help would be appreciated.

I don't know about sand, but the my BX22 FEL lifted full buckets of wet pea gravel, no problem. I estimate those loads to have weighed somewhere between 500 and 600 lbs. The BH digs very well, too. I have no reservations with this tractor. It's an exceptional machine.

We have had a lot of posts lately about lack of power on the front end loader (FEL). In most cases the hydraulic pressure relief is not set correctly. The BX 22 should lift the bucket with anything in it including wet sand or muck they are designed that way.

I just got a BX22 a few weeks ago. So far I have lifted full buckets of dirt, sand, and gravel with no problems. It's done everything I have wanted to do so far. The backhoe works well too!

The design of the BX and the pump system requires them to be off from an idle. They don't lift nor do they move that well at an idle anymore then mowing at an idle will work. It is a move to have people give them more throttle so not to cavitate the pumps prematurely. Most everyone is receptive to it when explained to them that have purchased them. The BX design being smaller then all of it's competitors except the X series Deeres which don't offer the features of the BX were designed for the homeowner that needed a little more then a garden tractor. To move one step further is to also include being one true step smaller then a compact.

My BX loader lifted anything I could heap into it. It holds about five cubic feet of material and it would handle that weight in wet soil.

That said, the loader is not as strong as the loader on the JD 4100/4110 so you will probably not be picking up engine blocks with it or using it as a fork lift.

The sub-triplets (Deere 2210, Kubota BX and MF GC2300) all have nearly identical loader lift capacities. I think the limiting factors in the design are the 8 and 10 inch tires on the front end and the short coupled nature of the wheelbase.

Of note is the fact that Massey Ferguson now has a T/L/B package in direct competition with the BX.

Mark, I consider both the Massy and the JD of a larger frame then the BX. They meet the B-7500-7510 chassis sizing for height and width and length. The only thing the same as the BX are the tires and approximate horsepower.

That is especially true of the BX 1500.... I will go back and have a look at the numbers again.

Art, the figures I have show the BX 2200 has a 55 inch wheel base and the other two are at 57 inches...... not a big difference.

Also the weights are very close: the BX is listed at 1300 pounds, the MF at 1367 and the Deere at 1400. Again, not a real big difference.

Mark you are right, and the B-7510 is two more inches longer then the 2210, and the same height as the 2210 only with the big tires and wheels!
