Make sure you also check the BH couplings too. I've had this problem a few times, and it was always a coupling not fully "coupled." Good luck.

When removing snow with the FEL, just use the float position (all the way forward on the joystick -- it should lock there). The fel won't gouge anything that way. Works great for me!

My understanding was that you also have to plumb a return line to the sump, in addtion to using the "to" and "from" connections for the BH. Don't you also have to use open center valves for this application? I'm also interested in building a top 'n' tilt setup for my BX22. Any help y'all can offer would be greatly appreciated.

Does your tractor have an FEL? If so, there's a hole in the left upright bracket that's mounted to the tractor. The hole in mine is covered by a safety decal. You can mount a small ammo box there with a bolt through that hole. You should still have plenty of room to use the parking brake and diff lock "pedals."

What potential loss are you trying to insure? Damage TO your tractor or damage FROM your tractor? Damage TO my tractor is covered on my homeowner's policy when the tractor is on my property. If, say, I'm transporting it and it is damaged, or it falls into a hole I'm digging at a friend's yard, I had to get an inland marine policy (about $200.00 per year)to cover damage TO the tractor. If my tractor causes damage (i.e. it falls off the trailer and hits something) my auto/umbrella liability covers that. That said, I'm not covered for commercial liability, so no backhoeing for hire for me.

I have a BX22 and it has done all that you described in your post. If you're going to be moving trees with the FEL, I recommend a set of pallet forks. I tried using a tow rope and it left the tractor center of gravity too high and I almost tipped the thing over.

Thanks, Mark. DUH! What was I thinkin' (drinkin')? Yes, the valve is attached to the FEL on the BX22, not the tractor.

I think you're talking apples and onions here. The B21 is a heavy duty commercial TLB machine, and as I understand, the FEL is not removable. I have a BX22, and its perfect for me. So far, I've used it to dig drain line trenches, plant trees, remove small trees (4" in diameter) and bushes, remove sidewalks, shovel snow, and of course, mow grass. It has performed all of these tasks to my satisfaction and to switch from TLB to 1st class mowing machine only takes about 20 minutes (with a little practice). I can highly recommend the BX22.

I bought my 12" Delta Benchtop on Amazon dot com for, I think, $179 and free shipping. Kinda hard to top Delta for that price. So far, its done everything I need, including drilling through steel.

I've had a heaping load of wet pea gravel (about 600 lbs)in the FEL on my BX22 (LA210 -- same capacity as the LA211 for the BX22000). The front tires were pancaking pretty good --I don't think ya wanna be liftin' more than that. Go with the 'Bota FEL.

I've had my BX22 for two months now and the thing never fails to impress me. Quite frankly, I think it would be hard to find a better value than this class of tractor. The only comparable tractor is the Massey GC2310.

It is so incredibly easy to take the BH and FEL off of the little beast, and for $16,500, I challenge you to find a new TLB with 60" MMM in a comparable price range.

On the other hand, the BX22 is a jack of most trades but a master of none. Either way, it is making my work around the house a whole lot easier. Now if I could just figure out a way to use it to finish my basement ...

I don't know about sand, but the my BX22 FEL lifted full buckets of wet pea gravel, no problem. I estimate those loads to have weighed somewhere between 500 and 600 lbs. The BH digs very well, too. I have no reservations with this tractor. It's an exceptional machine.

We had a Mini Hoe powered by a Honda motor. The thing was so light, you had to leave it hitched to the car/tow vehicle with the trans in neutral and the parking brake on, otherwise, it would drag itself all over the place. It did okay digging 30" deep holes for planting trees, but I wouldn't consider it a serious digger. I'm much more impressed with the BH on the BX22.

Just thought ya might like to know... I ordered a BX22 with 60" MMM and a mulch kit. I think the mowing decks are the same betwwen the BX2200 and the BX22.

My dilemma too. Can somebody help, pleeeeeaaasse? Okay, the BX22 subcompact weighs more than the B7500 compact. The B7500 has a tighter turning radius but is actually not as wide as the BX. Kubota's backhoe for the 7500 is a 3ph mount (some people don't like those)while the BX's BH is frame mounted and apparently easier to attach/detach (sp?). Some 3 pt implements don't mount as easily on the BX and the 7500 can lift almost 2x as much. The BX's mower is suspended (better cut) while the 7500's is on rollers. Every time a think one tractor has the advantage, I think of another positive for the other. What's a guy with acute tractoritis supposed to do? (I can't afford both).

Is there a Yanmar model with a mid pto? If not, is there a conversion kit available? I'm looking at compacts, but if I can't mount a belly mower on it, looks like Kubota or Kioti is the way I'm gonna go.

Great advice guys! I compared the bx22 to the ck20 and lb1914, and it looks like the ck20 wins. It can handle more weight on the 3 pt hitch and the lb1914 doesn't come with a mid pto. Price wise, the ck20 seems comparable to the bx22. Any comments on the reliabiltyservice you get from Kioti?
