I was moving dirt with the loader when under some tension it stalled and now it won't restart. It acts as if the hydrostatic transmission is engaged, which it is not. I have checked the fuses and the PTO is not engaged. Does any one have any ideas as to what else I can check?

It might be a problem with the "operator presence" safety system. You might remove and reconnect the electrical connectors under the seat. Is the problem indicator on the right fender flashing a code? ....

Ken... the 41xx's don't have no stinking code flashers.

Less is more. That is why we only get a "something is wrong" with a 41xx every five years or so......

Good advise though..... I would check the seat switch first and any other positional switch that controls the start function, like the H-N-L lever and double check that PTO switch along with any loose wire connectors. ....

D'oh! I knew the 4100 didn't have 'em but thought all the 10 series did. Thanks for the correction. ....

Tried reseating the seat switch connection - No Joy. I am not aware of a problem indicator on my tractor. I'll do a little more research. Thanks ....

Problem solved. It was the gear position switch. It didn't appear to be disconnected a first sight, but physically touching the connection determined it was in deed disconnected. Thanks for your responses they were helpful.

Jeff ....
