Any opinions on the better "Rake" implement...Frontier or Landpride.... Have a price quote of $825 for Frontier 6 foot light duty 1072 and $849 for the Landpride rake.... Would like to implement to be I-match compatible which I think both are. Looking for one for homeowner use solight duty is fine I suppose. Any opinions would be helpful! Thanks in advance!!

Well I went with the Frontier 72" rake with guage wheels for $795.... Hope this was a good selection...Documentation indicates this rake is actually manufactured by Woods... Interesting!! ....

I've really neveer taken the time to look the Fontier line over but I've also heard that they are Woods machines which have had a good reputation for years. On the other hand I have quite a few pieces of Landpride from their largest rear mount rotary tiller to their smaller box blades, landscape rakes, finish mowere, etc.. I've really never been dissapointed with the performance of any Landpride machine I have, so I'm kind of a creature of habit, when the need arises for another piece of equipment I just go get a Landpride. Frank. ....

I can atest to what Hardwood said about the Land Pride implements. I have the LR1584 landscaping rake and it has perform VERY well and from comparisons with other rakes; it is constructed much more heavy duty. I also have the RT1558 tiller and PD25 phd. Both are very well constructed and the tiller has worked excellent. I have not used the phd yet but I have no doubts it will perfom in the same manor. The only comment I would have that is not a pro comment is that the Land Pride equipment as well as the Frontier are VERY expensive as compared to many other brands. Frontier makes good equipement too although I have never used or purchased any. I am sure you will be happy and very satisfied with either so I would suggest working on obtaining the best price and dealer service. ....

I have found Mid West supplied by Corriher to be every bit as good as Frontier, and considerably less expensive...
The York rake 60" and guage wheels are many hundred less than Fronier, and they also have offest and tilt capabilities, and made heavy duty.
The First Choice line of tillers are considerably less than
Deeres as well...My Post Hole is by Greenline and once again is considerably less but not less in quality. As you can tell I refuse to over pay for something when its not necessary. When the backhoe budget comes around I will not skimp on that-only Deere in that case..

Duc ....

Duc brings up a good point. The Midwest brand equipment is a great buy for the money. I purchased Land Pride due to a friend selling me the equipment at a substantial discount; otherwise I would have probably purchased something through Corriher or C&C. Land Pride and Frontier make great equipment but not always worth the substantially higher price in most cases in my opinion. ....

t, don't know who you are, but duh. One of the best known brands in North America, Kenmore, does not have a single factory. Everything is made by someone else with the Kenmore sticker on it. Craftsman tools are the same thing. DeWalt tools are just better Black and Decker units. Nike owns no factories. The labels in the clothing you wear are made in someone else's factory. So what if Frontier is made by someone else to JD's specs? ....
