I've been looking into buying a new compact for about a year & really like the NH Boomer series. Recently I passed a Case IH dealer & saw a new compact there that had to be a TC with a coat of burnt red Case paint & a Case IH emblem on the grill. I did some investigating & saw one of the '04 TC's with the new body style(UGLY). Has NH sold the '02/'03 era body style to Case IH & how does the price compare? Can anyone tell me if the Case D& DX series compacts are mechanically the same as the not so old NH? I guess if I want a new NH without this newer body style I better buy now.

New Holland's parent company is called CNH - Case New Holland. The only difference between the Case D/DX tractors and the NH Boomers is the color and the optional SuperSteer option available on the NH line. I'm not sure what they will do with the redesigned line but it will likely be a similar arrangement. ....

They are the same at one point or another. You would be supprised as it sounds like you prefer the Blue tractors but some people do prefer the red ones. The newer units will eventually be labeled McCormick. ....

The McCormick tractors are not the same tractors as the CaseIH. CNH had to sell some plants in europe to be able to complete the merger, due to monopoly laws in europe. The result was the McCormick line from the sold factories.
The CIH line is going to add the Farmall name.

Therefore there will be two different tractor companies. A european tractor named McCormick painted red and a Japanese-american tractor named Farmall painted red. More than just a little confusing for the old time tractor buffs. ....

I'm looking at both the NH TC29 and the Case DX29. Never owned a tractor so I am new to this, when actually do the model years run? Are they like cars when a majority of the new models are introduced the fall before??

I was at our local Case dealer and he had no compact tractors on the lot, rather vague but he inferred that the new line was coming out next year. He only had a 1 page spec sheet that had a little story about the McCormick-Farmall heritage.

He said he'd have a 35 & 29 probably in Feburary. Is this right? These Farmall tractors are not even out on the market yet? Or did he just not have one because he is a small dealer?

He quoted me a rough price which was about $1000 less than the comparable NH, curious how it measures upmechanically and feature wise. ....

The local NH dealer also has CIH he claims he can get the blue cheaper than the red. He supplies the larger CIH as they are different tractors and then the smaller boomers in blue.
Another dealer near me has the McCormick and CIH. Now this should be confusing.
