New used 1914,my temp.gauge only works with the key in start location, not while tractor is running. Is this normal? Another question what is the right rpms to run the tractor at while preforming tasks?Sorry if these are silly question but its hard to teach a old dog new tricks.I being the old dog not the tractor.

Not a Kioti authority but I'd say that's neither normal nor serious.

Depends on type of work, but diesels work slower than gas engines. Assuming there's a tachometer marked with a red line, most work should be done from about twice the idle to just short of redline. ....

Your tractor may also have a line on the Tachometer marked PTO. Which as Auerbach said is just a pinch under full throttle.

Depending on what you are using the tractor for the temp guage not working could be a bigger concern. For example I mow with mine and the radiator screen tends to get clogged with debris, the gauge has saved me on a couple of occasions where I was not so attentive :( ....
