Howdy Folks!

I just made a visit to Bobcat's website and immediately noticed that their line of Compact Tractors has been completely removed from the home page.

As far as I can tell, Bobcat has done away with its line of compact tractors.

Does anyone here know what happened between Doosan and Bobcat? Are the Kioti tractors now being offered by Doosan, instead of Bobcat?

I'm not surprised by this, as the Bobcat/Kioti CT230 was one of the worst compact tractors I've ever seen, but I am at least a little surprised that Bobcat didn't take the time to make the necessary improvements to the machine.

Any input or information on this subject would be much appreciated.

Joel

Joel I thought Bobcat was who was bought, so how would Bobcat be the one deciding to drop the other? Am I missing something? ....

Hey Ken,

Joel posted the sale of Bobcat here at TP in 2007. That is funny because somewhere back then Bobcat was advertising here on TP.

The link is here:

Ken,

I'm just as puzzled as you are.

Bobcat is owned by Doosan. Doosan and Daedong had an agreement to market their compact tractors through Bobcat's dealer network.

I'm not sure how Bobcat managed to pull the plug on the agreement, but it's been done. Bobcat is no longer offering their lineup of compact tractors.

I was hoping somebody here would be able to fill me in.

From Bobcat's website:

Bobcat Company is a business of Doosan Infracore International, a US-based subsidiary of Doosan Infracore.

After further research on this topic, I'm beginning to believe that Doosan and Daedong terminated the agreement they had.

It appears that Doosan is behind this. Daedong is on its own again, offering Kioti tractors through its own U.S. dealer network.

While Bobcat has expunged any mention of its compact tractor line, Daedong hasn't been quite as diligent about it. Daedong is still listing Bobcat dealers in its dealer finder links.

I no longer believe that Bobcat is responsible for the termination of its compact line of tractors. I believe that Daedong and Doosan are responsible for the termination of the former agreements between them.

For a quite some time now, I've been wondering what Bobcat would be using for engines in its skidsteers.

Bobcat previously used Kubota engines in all of its equipment, but the recent purchase of Bobcat, by Doosan, caused all kinds of stir about Bobcat's supply of engines.

And now this:

Bobcat, a subsidiary of South Korean Doosan Group, has
entered into a new partnership with Deutz AG in the
construction machinery and agricultural equipment segment.

The manufacturer of specialist vehicles will rely on the TCD
3.6 L4 engine made by Deutz for operating its vehicles. Bobcat manufactures compact loaders, excavators, all-wheel
multi-purpose vehicles and attachments, and is based in North Dakota, USA.

See bottom of page 14 at the following link.

I don't know the model or the year but a friend bought a Bobcat compact with loader on a auction a couple years ago and has been happy with it. He has put it to good use clearing some old fencerows and recently digging a medium sized pond. He is a retired farm equipment mechanic and welder, so likely can do most all the service but where will he find parts?
