Hi all, couple questions.

1. Anyone help me out with how to search the 'gator' forum for previous posts. I hate bothering folks if a question has already been asked but all I seem to be able to search is the tractor sections.

2. My HPX has the stock Carlisle turf tires and I'm looking to upgrade. I need something semi-aggressive for my farm but don't need full-blown mud slingers. Anyone have feedback on tires that work well as replacements? What about size, can a guy go up in size while still using the stock steel rims? Anyone have a good resource for tires at a good price, maybe some take-offs?

3. Will XUV rims fit on an HPX? I recall seeing a couple ads indicating the XUV rims wouldn't fit an HPX, anybody know for sure?

Thanks.

SC;
Here in Iowa we have lots of good sized farm tire dealers and more and more Gators every day, so I'd think would have a ready source of Gator tires.
My XUV came with the tire upgrade, but I don't think they are any bigger than stock tires just a bit more aggresive and supposedly more puncture proof. I've alreasdy had cornstalk punctures so they aren't completely puncture proof.
I'm not sure that bigger tires would have the clearance required for the indepenent suspension travel.
I don't know about HPX and XUV rims being interchangable, it may be something to do with clearance for the brake discs.

No idea the model of Gator we have but a two wheel gas unit. The dealer really told me I wanted the upgrade and he was right. It has bigger tires and rims I think but thread is more like mud grips for pickups than truff tires. ....

The tight tread design like a lawnmower has that came on the original two wheel drive Gators were a total failure if you even got near any mud, you were stuck on top of the ground. The upgrade tread design on mine reminds you of a rear tractor tire with notches taken out of the bars and just kinda knobs left about an inch square and a couple inches apart. I never had these on a two wheel drive, but they work real good in mud with a four wheel drive. ....

I think you're looking for the HDAP (heavy duty all purpose) tires like JD puts on the diesel Gator. They are:
Front: 2-22.5X10.00-8 2Ply
Heavy-Duty All Purpose
Rear: 4-25X13.00-9 2Ply
Heavy-Duty All Purpose

I have 2 ply HDAP rears on my x500. You can really feel the aggressiveness, especially when I kick the diff lock. And they're surprisingly gentle on turf.

I put these tires on my 4x2 gator, and LOVE them. Being a 4x2 I need all the traction I can get. Tires are so much better than the HD all purpose tires that came on it. I like this tire so much, its the only tire I will ever have on the gator ....

I have a Big Red, not a Big Green……… but tires is tires.

I recently upgraded to 14 inch rims and radial M&S car tires and I couldn’t be happier with the performance.

Can anyone tell me if you know of any other tire rims (other manufacturers, brands, etc.) that will fit a 2003 4 X 2 Gator?
