Went to change oil in my Mitsubishi engine in my excavator. Was last changed by Volvo dealership when I bought (Penn) Was unable to break the plug loose. Anyone know if by change it could be left hand threads? Any suggestions on getting drain plug loose? Have clear access to it with box end wrench but not with long socket. May with short socket.
Have any of you had good success with the oil pumps to pull the oil out of the dipstick tube?

Just some ideas. Sometimes on a hex head that has been used a few times you can see wear marks on the facets of the head. If the wear is on one side it is RH, the other it is LH. Also, I've seen some left hand heads that have an L or LH markings on the head. ....

Kenny--first--congratulations on using the correct form of "loose"! Now if we can get you use other grammatical etiquette like "(I) went to..." LOL
Anywho...
If (the) plug (is) messed up (you) can use (a) 6" mini-pipe wrench. Once you get (it) out, replace (it) with (a) good one. LOL
As far as those oil suction pumps I wouldn't use one--they are only going to be able get wherever you can get the suction tube which will be a very, very small percentage of the total area of the oil pan bottom which is where the crud will settle. IMHO you have to get the plug out after the engine is warmed, drain it, and then run about a quart of new oil while the plug is still out. Let it drain some more then reinstall the plug and refill.
If it's that hard to get to, consider installing an elbow in place of the plug and run a short (or even long) piece of rubber hydraulic hose with a threaded end and a plug. (An old hydraulic line would work). A long hsoe would allow you to run it straight into an oil jug or bucket. (You're welcome LOL)
My walk-behind concrete saw with a 13HP Honda has just such a hose on it from the factory. Handy!
Years ago the autoparts used to sell a "Remote, (choke)cable-operated drain plug kit". I can see it now: "Hmm I wonder what THIS (pulling sound) is for? (sound of thrown rods)" "Rut-roh I know NOW". ....

It will be Thursday before able to crawl back under the machine "with" flashlight to see head to check Ken's suggestions. Then will see if any way to get impact wrench on it. Might can with very short socket and then long extension for smaller diameter than deep well socket. Fear is not damage to drain plug, but to threads in oil pan. Have even thought about ok, if able to get impact wrench on it and it does not loosen real quick then use the drain plug as port to drill and tap for new drain plug. It would be thicker than the oil pan would be. ....
