Have question. I have a B2150 4 cyl. 4wd that has turf tires on it. I want to do some land plowing and have been looking at single bottom plows. My question is can I expect to be able to pull the plow with these tires or do you think that they will slip to muck. Would putting chains on the tires make eneough difference?

You'll easily be able to pull a single bottom plow, but I wouldn't go any bigger than about 14" in size.
Roughly speaking, 1hp is required to pull each inch of plow length. In other words, a 14" plow will require about 14 horsepower.
When using turf tires this formula has to be adjusted a bit, because you won't be able to pull all of your horses to the ground.
If your soil is heavy, or slightly wet, you may have to make two passes, going slightly deeper the second time around. However, I believe you'll easily be able to handle a 14 inch plow. If you have any doubts, you can always go with a 12" plow.

I've seen tracked dozers get stuck, and I've seen 2WD garden tractors pull a plow. Your answer depends on soil (both the traction surface and what the share meets), share characteristics and plowing depth, and topography.
Chains will help, and are cheaper than another set of tires. They grip better than tire lugs on ice, but not quite as good as lugs on most soil.
Suggestion: try the plow the dealer recommends for your use. Set tire pressure toward the low side. If need more traction, get front chains. Not costly, and go on easily especially if you have a loader that can lift the fronts, or the right jack. Next step: rear chains. Cost more and a bit of a bother to install, but at least come off easily. ....

If your tractor is a 2-wheel drive model, I'd go with the smaller 12" plow.
If you have 4WD, you should easily be able to handle a 14 inch plow.

I have a 27HP tractor that weighs more than yours with turfs. I plow 6-8" deep in hard clay soil with a single bottom 14" plow. A loader on the front helps for traction with 4WD. It does spin a bit, but plow about 1/2 acre with it. It makes her snort in low range and definitely cleans out the carbon build-up from previous mild use. Have been fall plowing with it for about 10 years now. ....

Chains will do 2 things for you. Help with traction and the furrow tire will not cut up from slippage on wet soil and rocks as spins a little all the time. ....

Thanks to all for the advice. I do have a FEL and she is 4WD. I want to put in a food plot for deer and was looking at the S.Bottom 12" and 14" plows advertised in Northern Hyd., but was unsure if I would be wasting money and then thought about buying a set of chains. I could use the chains in the winter anyway.
