Lots of companies make a BH that will work well with that machine, 3pth and sub-frame mount.

I should point out though, if you have a need for a toy, buy a BH, but if you are only going to do a little bit of stuff and not very often, think twice, a BH is much $$$ and you can rent a mini excavator for a couple hundred bucks a day a rental house will deliver you a nice new shiney one.

Best of luck. ....

Yes I understand your point, but that is a PITA, I want it when I want it, know what I mean? I have use for one once or twice a month and it's the one implement that I wish I had the most. Any idea what they would cost, I'm thinking around 4-5 for a Bush Hog brand. ....

I just priced a new one today day for the new models on that chassis and it started just over 7,000 retail less freight and A&H. Bush hog won't save you much off that as I sell those to and find that unless early order discounts are used they are normally the same money! ....

8x56mn; Murf makes a good point on the economics of your question, it is a poor investment, BUT. I'll use an example of my wife and I and her sister and her husband. Her sister and her husband both had good jobs, lived modestly and have enough asseta to do pretty much as they please. They go on two cruses per winter plus go to Alaska every summer to visit friends. I don't have any Idea what they would spend per year on travel, but that's their business. On the other hand my wife and I neither one care much for travel so our "cruse" money is spent on tools and machines that for the most part I could live without, and the wife collects artwork for the house, so either way for them or us the money is spent for the things we and they enjoy. If you would enjoy a backhoe for the Kubota and it don't put you in any financial bind, by all means buy one and enjoy it. I've had a #48 backhoe for my 4310 Deere for a long time, it probably hasn't had 100 hours of use since I bought it new, it spends 95% of it's life sitting in the shed, but when I need it, it is 10 minutes from digging a hole. Far as brands, I'm a big believer in putting a Kubota hoe on a Kubota and a Deere hoe on a Deere, they were engeneered to work together. Frank. ....

8x56mn,

Unless you're in a big hurry to get your backhoe, you would be much better off looking for one at auction.

As our other members pointed out, when owned by a private individual, for private use only, these backhoes see very little use. A machine that's 10 years old might have less than 100 hours on it. Essentially, a new machine can be had for far less than new price, when purchased at auction.

Search for "backhoe" at Proxibid.com

New auctions appear daily. If you don't find one today, try searching again every few days.
