Does anyone know a dealer with skidplate/rental upgrade kit P.N. LVB25453 in stock? I am told it is an obsolete # and would be dealer stock only. Thanks Jim

My dealer parts guy called around and found me one. If would like, I can give you his number and he may be able to help you out. They are in Kentucky so that may not be practical shipping wise for you. ....

The phone # is 1-800-726-7172 ask for Ricky in parts and tell Ricky that Randy sent you from this website. Ricky called around and found me a kit in another dealer. I have not installed it yet and am not sure that I will yet as I may be getting a larger tractor for heavy brush cutting. I haven't made up my mind yet. For now I am experimenting and trying to make do. If the toll free # does not work from your area, try 1(270) 726-7171. ....

Thanks for the help, through all posts on skid plates being obsolete I took it for granted that it mean't not available. Come to find out John Deere has them in stock and I finally inquired at my dealer who went on JD site and ordered today for 1 week order arrival. Not cheap but well worth it, undercarriage hydraulics and wiring are quite exposed. Looks like a pice of cake to install. thanks JIM f ....

They're not really a piece of cake to install but I'm sure you'll figure it out. Here's a link to a thread describing my experience with installing it. ....

I installed skid plates this weekend , really not a big deal at all , just nuts and bolts. The bolts on the right side from scv line mount were too short but it was no big deal to loosen floor board and sneak longer bolts into place. Over all the kit is very nice and instructions and pictures were very clear. Took about 3 1/2 hours with out air tools. Definitely worth the protection. JIM ....
