I have a 4410 with 430 loader and will be moving a lot of gravel and crushed rock.Considering buying the Xtra Armor hood protection package. Does anybody have this installed and is it worth the money?

practice lifting and dumping a loaded bucket and save yourself some $$$. However if you are going to be doing any riding in the brush, stumps, rocks etc, the under armor is worth the money.

I don't have any experience with the Xtra Armor package, but I concluded it wasn't worth the expense for me. As dsg says the skid plates are worth it if you work in the brush. The one thing I liked about the extra armor was the extra hood protection, but you could probably have something welded up a lot cheaper and green paint is cheap. ....

I have the 430 FEL on my 4410 and have not found a need for it. I suppose I would order it if I was ordering the machine new, but otherwise would heed the above posts unless you have an unusual application. ....

Thanks everyone for your inputs; I think I will see how it goes and maybe fab my own. I agree that the cost is high. I do have the skid plates however. ....

Below is the link to the skid plate kit parts diagram. The part number for the kit is:

LVB25453

cost: $327

The kit come with other items such as a C range lock out plate and some plastic fender plugs to disable the bells and whistles. This kit may also still be referred to as the "Rental Upgrade Kit" by the sales people.

Also be advised that this kit is incompatable with a MMM or any other mid mounted attachments such as a snow blower. Even the MMM lift servo and frame must be removed to install this kit. The kit is a great addition for working in heavy brush or in other applications where the wiring harnesses for the 4WD and other features could possibly become snagged and ripped out. They are not cheap to repair. ....
