Additional info:
When it starts, it purrs like a kitten, it has never sputtered, or belched unusual smoke.
I did try one additional thing-I closed the fuel shutoff valve near the fuel filter on last shutdown, thinking it would prevent any bleeddown-N.G.
I am going with the fuel shutoff solenoid.
Any idea how much this little gem costs?

Frank, I watch some companies raise prices by the month because of steel or fuel and I watch others that don't raise them but maybe once a year. I watch as newer designs come out and often the price holds to comparables. Then with some and the all new they hold back to only a modest ten percent increase on the all new totally improved unit?

Les: probably the Curtis Cab Co. is the best place to start for a cab, I'm sure they have a website somewhere. Far sa a backhoe I doubt anyone makes a frame mount unit, but The Woods Co., Land Pride and several others make 3 pt. hitch hoes. Is your 2030 a utility type ot row crop tractor? In some cases a cab and a hoe attachment might not be compatable for clearance resons, I hope others on the board can help me out there. Best of luck. Frank.

I would check to see that the valve below the seat in the front is fully open. It is the one with a round knob and is between your feet. It controls the amount of flow to the lift. Just a thought. If it is set too far to the close side it will cause the exhaust to become wet on the top of the muffler. I have the same tractor.

The pitfalls taking off and putting on the hoe is good info to know but for right now I just need more time learning the controls. My sons who are in their early twenties and grew up with video games just look at levers and knobs and good things happen for them as I struggle to get the hang of things.

Hi Otter,

About 3 months ago my starter was acting up and I would keep clicking the switch until it caught and then it would start, I knew that I should pull the starter and check it out but I was to busy. Big mistake the small gear that turns the flywheel was cracked and wasn't engaging properly, and when it broke completely it jammed and broke the helmut housing on my starter, and I ended up buying a new starter because one of my crew kept trying to start it and burned up the starter. If I had pulled the starter at first sign of trouble it would have been a cheap fix $25.00 to $35.00 instead of $200.00 plus.

Rick you would be wise to buy the loader or to secure an order with a dealer as soon as possible. The more lead time he has might be able to reduce the freight or add to another order to recieve a larger discount. I don't have any knowledge of that perticular tractor but just start looking. Does the tractor have power steering?

On the 950, the steering valve is on the left side of the tractor, alongside of the steering cylinder. It sounds like that valve is sticking. If you turn the wheel slightly in both directions without the engine running, you should be able to see the valve moving in and out. When you release the wheel, the valve should go back to a neutral position. If it doesn't, you either have a sticky valve or a broken spring internally. If it sticks, you might free it up with penetrating oil or it might need disassembly to clean up the mechanism. Its a pretty simple valve. Good luck.

Here are the results of the stability calculations comparing rear wheel weights with wheel spacers.

I'll get the disclaimers out of the way first. Although I believe the kid did a good job modeling the system, don't use these results to plan your next tractor trip. They should be used for comparison only and give a feel for order of magnitude. The critical dimension that we approximated is the vertical height of a stock tractor Center of Gravity. Unless you have this nailed down, and take into account the front axle pivot, the tipping angle results are only approximate. Implement set-up, accessories, terrain, etc., also would effect results.

The Model;
Tractor weight:2400lbs
Rear wheel spread:4'-0"
Height of CG:2'-0"
Rear axle height:1'-0"
Assumptions:
Ignore the pivoting front axle.
Balance moments about the center/bottom of the downhill tire.
Front and rear axle spread are equal.
Results:
Add rear wheel weights to the stock tractor and solve for the tipping angle:
0-weight 24.5 degrees
150lbs ea/wh 26.0 degrees
250lbs ea/wh 27.0 degrees
500lbs ea/wh 29.5 degrees

Add spacers to rear wheels at 2" increments without rear weights and solve for the tipping angle:
0" spacers ea/wh 24.5 degrees
1" spacers ea/wh 25.1 degrees
2" spacers ea/wh 25.9 degrees
3" spacers ea/wh 26.5 degrees
4" spacers ea/wh 27.3 degrees

All programing was done in JAVA.

Wheel weights at 250lbs/wheel and spacers at 4"/wheel without weights approximately result in the same tipping angle. Both solutions added approximately 3 degrees to the stock tractor tipping angle. 250 lbs is roughly what Rim-Guard would add to the rear tires of the B2710.

Regardless of the results, the kid did a great job programming the model.

Those options should be easy to get if we don't have them in stock. Just toured the factory where they were assembling them this past week. It was great to see a modern facility like this in operation. I'd have to say that I'd like to see at least 100 hours before getting fancy with the injection pump.

Thanks for the input.

I like the idea of having the feet control things like braking and throttle, and the hands controlling things like sterring and the bucket (like a normal vehicle).

If andone has experience with them, I'd like to hear some input on those John Deere 240's I mentioned. I really like the 'vertical lift' system they employ on the bucket arms. Not only does it seem more stable, but more flexible as to what it can do, not to mention the insane abount of height it gets.

The questions about his discharge have been going on for more than twenty years. He was issued an honorable discharge after his original discharge was reviewed more than 8 years after his original. The 'only' time a discharge is reviewed is when the recipient is applying to have a less than honorable discharge changed to an honorable discharge. His medals were reissued at that time as well. The only time medals are reissued is when they had previously been taken away thorugh disciplinary action. He had also been stripped of his security clearances and had to have those reissued.

His records on these matters are unavailable because he wont sign the same forms he and the DNC hounded the president into signing so that 'all' his records can be released for public access. Many of his performance reviews are also unavailable. The ones that are, are average at best, and show that Kerry was not qualified to recieve a command. A swift boat is the biggest vessel the navy would let him command. He had gone as far in the navy as he would ever be allowed to go within months of his enlistment.

This is what I mean about Bush not running a smart campaign. He had an opponent that was a scandal treasure chest waiting to happen, but chose to take the high road. But sometimes when you're in a pit of vipers, you have to act like a viper. Every time he did go on the attack, it was always a day late and a dollar short.

Bush is a good, smart, principaled and honest man. But politics is a dirty, dirty business and not for the faint of heart. If he wins it will be a miracle, as there has never been a president that has been assailed by the media the way this man has during this campaign.

Thanks, I did talk with the JD dealer who sold me the tractor and he said he would check into some options for me. He said few others had mentioned the same complaint but didn't remember if JD had done a PIP on it or not.

If no other options, I 'll ask him about cold bending it.
