Found an '84 Kubota B6100 DT w/Kubota loader. New seat, paint. 1500 hours,very clean. Seller quoted $6700 F.O.B New England, and I'm out west. Seems very high. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance!

i have had a pto generator for about 6 months and would share these observations with you .<br>i have a generac 25kw unit with built in voltage and frequency meter. the frequency meter is in my opinion very important if you are going to run electronic equipment . since the motor is not voltage or frequency controlled you need to be able to evaluate this, motor pitch does not reliabley help you with the frequency. in other words you can not tell if the frequency changes by listening to the motor sounds. poor frequency is extremely hard on electronic equipment.<br>i have found in my particular case that i can set the frequency on 60.7 HZ with no load and will have plenty of power to start my 75 ft well pump (1hp) without dropping below 59HZ on startup. this is the largest motor i have. this is addition to the usual house hold load.<br> i have installed a transfer panel from gentran to safely handle the power output. this is very important to anyone planning on using a generator.<br>the other thing you might consider is that if your tractor is powering your generator you cant use it for other things like clearing snow, etc.<br>all in all i am happy with the generac, very well built unit. weighs about 535 lbs without the trailor. <br>hope this helps<br>al

The glow plugs on my tractor are the sheathed type and appear not to work although they draw current. Is this something that needs to be pulled and cleaned or do they fail but continue to draw current.

Skids don't work for every snow situation. When I purchased a JD hydraulic front blade for my JD955 I looked forward to the first snow (weird huh!). I set the skids two inches below the blade figuring that pushing snow was going to be easy. Finally the long awaited snow arrived and I started at one end of my gravel driveway and dropped the front blade using the float position and pushed away at the snow--clear across the county road in front of my drive. Imagine my surprise to find that the skids had sunk into my gravel and I had just bladed not only the snow, but almost two inches of gravel from the center of my driveway. The skids, even with the blade in float position, had gouged into the gravel. I eventually tried about every skid depth setting, but the skids would always dig into the loose gravel. On the county road, the skids worked pretty well, except when they fell into one of the many potholes and that's where the recoil springs of the blade probably saved me many times. For my loose gravel driveway, I eventually set the front blade two inches above the gravel without using the float position and then finished the driveway off by pushing the rear blade (no skids)backwards.<br>When I used only a rear blade for my driveway, I would set the blade about two inches off the surface and blade forward and then go back and push the rear blade backwards for the remaining two inches of snow--worked great.

i have a massey ferguson 1655 with an onan engine 16 hp looking for a replacement or possibly upgrading to larger engine. anyone know if i can use different brand of engine or do i have to stay w/onan.

Bruce,<br> Agco, for some unknown reason, doesn't feel it necessary to convey specific info about their many brands' models at their web site. So before all those individuals who only see a specific color get ahold of you, do yourself a favor and go check a Massey out in person. That's what I did. In my opinion, they are every bit as good a tractor as the orange, green, and blue ones( and I was raised on Ford). On most models, mid PTO is standard (an option on some other tractors), engine size is larger and rpm slower than other comparable HP models. Cost, in my area, is similar to other major name brands (my personal feeling is they all get together and agree on a price for each HP class). I have heard and read good things about their performance and reliability, too. The same can also be said about Kubota, Deere, and NH as well. I haven't pulled the trigger yet (having trouble convincing the wife), but if I did, I'd go for the MF1240. Bottom line: Get what you want; any of these tractors should make you happy.

Hi David<br>I looked long and hard for a used machine and could not find anything. Most good machines bring what the owners paid new for them after several years and many hours. If you are like me and run things forever I would pick out a new machine and pay the extra $.. Just took delivery of a TC29D. Turf tires, mostly for mowing, but I decided to get a loader too. (glad I did!) In low range, mine will readily spin all four (well, 3 anyway) wheels when pushing with the loader against a dirt pile. In mid range, it will

I ended up taking the easy way out. I bought the JD ballast box and filled it with garden dirt. I also bought the bucket level indicator. $215 later (for both units) the JD dealer was happy and I have a ballast box that is easy to use. I'm not certain what the ballast box weighs but it is enough to allow me to fully fill the 60

I have had my 4100 for 4 months. The battery arrangement is as you have described on your 4200. I checked the battery and hydraulic oil cooler and both are fine. Obviously you can do what you want to but if I were you I would be contacting my dealer for warranty repairs.

<br>I bought a 4600 HST with MFWD, R4s, 460 loader for 25K. A good dealer looked around and found one for me in 2 weeks. Had a 950 for years but I'll take the 4600 with HST any day. No shifting !! Only thing I don't like is the exaust outlet underneath. I seem to inhail a lot of diesel smoke. Anyone else have this problem ??

Remove the bulb from the indicator light (could cause a false reading at the temperature gauge); use a copper washer at the new temperature sending unit.
