Hi, I'm in the market for a compact tractor and found an 1725 lease return with 93hrs. I've read some posts from the Farmlady about her problems with one. Has any one else experienced a major problem with one. Seems like a good deal.....

I have no experience with a belly mower on my Kubota B2710, but I really like my 3-point finishing mower (Rhino FM60) for the lawn. It costs much less than the belly mower and is easy to put on and take off. I can back it up under trees, where you would have to drive the whole tractor with a belly mower. I don't know how it could cut any sharper - I don't feel it lacks any in this area.<br>The finishing mower is very expensive and I would not subject it to the stuff my Rhino SE5 rotary cutter goes through. I used it on my rough pasture, not really because the ground is all that uneven, but because the weeds, brush, saplings,and grass are sometimes taller than the tractor. It doesn't bog down at all and does a good job. Of course it doesn't look like your lawn, but its a big improvement.<br>If your trying to cut it like a lawn, maybe you should plow it up and blade it so that it is smoother. Then you can used the belly mower.

I have a

blade is clearly better made than most that I see. Some of the JD blades of 10
to 20 years ago were also make well....although I think the Rhinos of the same
vintage were - and are still - the better-built blade.Go for heavy construction,
I don't think you can get a back blade that is too heavy. The heavier the
better.Go for a tall blade with lots of curvature, end plates if you can get
them, tilt, angle, and offset are the three basic adjustments.Plus,a blade should
be capable of being reversed while mounted to the tractor. This is necessary - I
would not buy one without getting this promised. I know, because I bought one
that did not reverse.
BTW, I am on my 4th or 5th blade now...bought the Rhino about 10 years ago and
have not wished for anything different since then.....although if I was doing
it again, I would have gotten one with hydraulic cylinders instead of the
manual pin adjusters.

Your observation is right. Having the brake (steering) pedals on the same side as the foot hydro controls does not make good ergonomic sense. JD hydro compact tractors have the hydro controlled by the right foot and the steering brakes controlled by the left. (The panic and parking brake is on the right.)

I have a Kubota B7300. I had read that one can run over the deck with the front wheels if you use blocking under the deck. I have 4wd and it worked for me. This may just work for you. The only problem I encountered is that I set my deck high at 3

A 5' flail mower has about 60 L shaped cutter baldes. To sharpen them you take them off the mower and sharpen each one independently. They are easy to sharpen but take alot of time. A flail mower is safe to operate since it does not throw stuff out. It produces a cut better than a bush hog but not as nice as a finish mower.

I just bought a JD850, and gan't leave it. I love the tractor. The 950 is the same but a little bigger.<br>What exactly are you going to be using the machine for. I would let that<br>guide your decision.

Mark, I just bought a small, used Yanmar which is rated as cat. 0. I had the same concern & I quizzed the seller. He had both the Yanmar tractor I bought & a larger Kubota w/ cat. 1 hitch. He showed me the hitches & his implements & assured me that most reasonably sized cat 1 implements would fit on cat�0 hitches. The difference IS in the pin. Cat 1 is 7/8

I am shopping for a Tractor and never hear much about the B2100. Seems most talk is about the B7300, B2400, and the B2710. Why would anyone buy the B2100?

I would like to buy it for $50! Most of the 1 and 2 bottoms for 3pt hitches go for <br>$175 to $250 in Michigan. If it is a Brand name or color towards the high side!<br>Hope it helps!

Fabulous deal! I just paid $4500 for an identical tractor with 1000 hours, now I'm acquiring the attachments. The only problem seems to be where to get parts if (when) you need them. I have not found anyone supporting Mitsubishi in the U.S.

Went with the R4s,but ordered a set <br>of front Turf tires/rims, but told him to wait on the order, because I may opt for the rears <br>as well. I hear its a no-no on the big units, but no-one seems to definitely KNOW for the compacts.
Anyway, the JD dealer quoted me $270 for the front tires/rims, I'm sure that was list cost.
Not sure if I answered your question. I think you'll be a little hard pressed
to find someone only selling the fronts turfs.

<br>There is no need to use synthetic oil in your tractor engine.Those engines were designed for standard petroleum oils.Our tractor engines benefit much more by using a quality name brand pet. oil and keeping CLEAN filters inplace. One of those diese fuel additives sold in farmers supply will boost the lubricity of the fuel and do much more good than synthetic oil. <br>

Al, I ordered the same 4300 hydro on April 12 and now have a ship date from the factory of July 14. I am in Oregon so it will take 7 to 10 days to get it here and then a few days for dealer prep. I would very much be surprised to see you get you 4300 as soon as your dealer has indicated as I understand the JD builds and ships these units on a first come first serve basis. I had asked my dealer since they are the largest in the area if they did not have some pull with JD in the factory requests and he indicated that JD didn't offer any special deals to large buyers of their machines. If what I have been told is true I suspect you will have at least 12 to 13 weeks delay. Your dealer has an incentive to give you a shorter timeline to keep your order. Once you've waited 8 weeks it is easier to modify the original committment by telling you

I built a Caddigger 608, and have been using it for a couple of months. The only problem so far was a bent pin on the end of a cylinder. it seems to work fine for the size (psi etc.)

The owner's manual should cover this in some depth. for most tractors, it will<br>come out to be about 35 in the front and around 10 psi in the rears.
