Assuming the tractor is heavy and strong enough, canCat 1 implements be used on a Category 0 hitch bysimply replacing the pins or are the dimensions betweenlower links, and lower link to top link different?I have a honda 4wd tractor that weighs 1200lbs dry andhas a Cat 0 hitch/lift and PTO. This weight is similar or heavier than alot of the small Kubotas that have Cat 1 hitch/lifts.Trac Vac makes a 3 pt hitch mounted grass catcher that I'd like to use but is spec'd for a Cat 1 hitch. They show it mounted to a Kubota 7100 which is actually lighter than my Honda. The catcher has its own engine, so theres no issue with the rear PTO RPM.Any suggestions?

Mark, I just bought a small, used Yanmar which is rated as cat. 0. I had the same concern & I quizzed the seller. He had both the Yanmar tractor I bought & a larger Kubota w/ cat. 1 hitch. He showed me the hitches & his implements & assured me that most reasonably sized cat 1 implements would fit on cat¨0 hitches. The difference IS in the pin. Cat 1 is 7/8" dia & cat 0 is 3/4 as I recall. As long as the pin is removable from the implement (his all were threaded, held by nut), you can buy/substitute the smaller-end cat 0 pin to match the 3-point cat 1 hitch. The smaller-ended cat 0 pin has the same diameter/threads/nut as the cat 1 pin; only the end dia. is different. The only "not possibles" would be obviously too-large implements for the rated hp/weight of the smaller tractor OR an implement where the pin was fixed in place (like welded) and could not be replaced. I note that Northen Hydraulics adverstises several items as being compatible w/ either 0 or 1, but routinely supplies only a #1 pin (you must buy 0 pin as extra). ....
