Does your book show the telescoping drag links for the 4000 series tractor?

If so, what is the cost for a set for the 4300 HST? Thanks in advance. Also I will be looking for a Snow Blower for the same tractor come fall. one that is front mounted.... and I cringe to ask what that is gonna cost me! :)

Ok, so I am getting old and my brain is frazzled on some days. I pulled out my bill of sale. I paid $15798.00 (last month)and got a 4100 Gear (manual tranny) , a 410 loader, a 48" gearmore box scraper and a posthole digger (also Gearmore)with a 9" auger. The only problems so far have been that the ag tires that came with the tractor were totally unsuitable for the sand dune I live on in Northern Nevada. The dealer offered no help so I replaced all the rubber with car and truck tires. Also the position of the center link on the 4100 is buried under a steel support and interferes with some implements.

I have a TC40D with Super Steer and the 17LA loader and have not had this problem. Sounds like something may not adjusted correctly.

THIS WEEK I AM TRADING MY 455 FOR A 4100HST W/LOADER AND 61" BUCKET,60" BELLY MOWER,MY QUESTION IS:I DON'T WANT TO REMOVE THE ROPS BUT IS THERE A FOLDING ROPS OR HAS ANYONE MODIFIED THERE ROPS TO FOLD LIKE THE MODEL AVAILABLE ON THE JD 4200? I HAVE A LOT OF TREE'S ON 6 + ACRES AND THIS IS MY ONLY PROBLEM I SEE.

Keith is right about the loader you do have to put stands down to set the Kubota loader. The loader is supported all the way to the rear of the Kubota as you noted which helps to reduce the load and stress from the front of the tractor.

If the circuits work properly when used independently, the hoses are most likelyi hooked up properly. If the hoses were NOT connected properly, either the curl wouldn't work at all, or it would work backwards (I have that happen occasionally when re-attaching my hoses after using the curl outlets to run my back blade, and have to swap them) I'm no hydraulics expert, but I suspect the problem is more likely internal to the control valves, allowing oil from the lift circuit to bleed off somewhere. Has this always been a problem with the machine, or did it just start? Another possibility is that there isn't adequate oil flow to run both circuits at the same time. Have you checked the oil level? Does the severity of the problem change with engine RPM, ie, worse at lower RPMs? If it's less of a problem at higher RPM's, that would indicate an oil flow problem, probably due to either low oil, a leaky pump or a partially plugged filter.

John you will be fine with just a loader. I would not recommend tipping the bucket down however. I plowed my 1/4 mile and parking ares with a 4' box scraper for a couple of years, it did get old but it sure beat the alternatives. You will be amazed at how much snow you can move with a loader bucket. We used to do all of our areas with old trip buckets and home made blades THEN we moved up to 4010 with a 4' siliage bucket. Drove on top of sides but it sure beat the old trip bucket. Have fun with the toy in the snow.

Warren; Me thinks youmay be operating mid to low rpm's and you are using the regular side of the dump. The dump circuit also has a hi-speed dump (regenerative is the term most use) You push the lever AAAAALL the way to the right. Usually at mid and lower rpm's there is some hesitation in between the two if you start on the slow side just dribbling etc then move to hi side to finish dump.

That's a good point, David. I should have said that there is a difference between high and low pressure filters. One tip off will be the price. But don't count on guesswork: Always be sure about the system pressure and the pressure ratings of the components. If you aren't sure, then it is easy and cheap to plumb in a simple pressure gauge....and they are fun to watch.

Log splitters have a differential hydrolic control valve. The lower rate should only affect the speed at which the ram moves forward. In general they are a relatively large cylinder and therefore require a lot of oil volume. I would think that you may over and under fill the hydrolic res. with each stroke on a small tractor.
I have a large tractor (65 hp) which I normally use with the splitter. I have hydrolic remotes but use a PTO pump on the splitter. I would recommend getting the unit with the pump. The cylinder sits in a lot of dirt and chips etc. I do not want that in my tractor system. The PTO pump is alot less than and easier to rebuild than the one on the tractor.

a wonderful machine.Made by Mitsubishi & were around under the International & later Case IH name .When Case decided to get out of the Compact line CubCadet picked them up & changed the sheet metal a little bit.

Parts of Kentucky are like a continuous clay belt as in southern Ontario. Once the rain soaks in, with the slopes, you have trouble walking as the clay cling to your feet and your feet become the size of a Sasquash. I don't know of anything in Ontario quite like this. The mile of roads I had in Kentucky were my own logging roads.
Thanks for the good description of using the brakes. I could not quite explain it and thought he might determine it with a trial.

Inexpensive does not mean cheap. Expensive does not mean quality. The seat on the JD 750 (85) was cheap and poorly set up, but relatively expensive from JD. I looked at a number of alternatives that were less expensive. Even an industrial seat from JD (USA) was better than the Yamar (JD) and less money. I finally went to Northern and took a chance on the yellow seat they had at (~$70). Much better seat and lower price.
I think the problem here is that the year of the tractor = model of seat. One of the reasons I went to the JD dealer to look at the seat offered that I assumed there was no way that they would not of upgraded the junk that was original equipment. Wrong !!! JD models that were continued in production longer must have a better design. I have no problems with the 99' JD 955 seat. The seat I purchased from Nothern is like the 4000 series seats.

I own 20 acres and purchased a TC29D seems to work great so far. With a 5ft brushhog and 68"fel for 17,600 with no supersteer. I found for the 800 extra Igot 4 more hp. this made it a little easier on the hog.You may want to look close at the ss option do you really need it? Save 1500 if you dont.The 25D will do you it just depends on how much time you want to spend on your tractor.

The Millenium "Tractor" is made by Tong Yang. This company also makes the Mahindra, Agco, & MF Compact Drive lines. Different engines & detail for each.
