Thanks, But had checked that. Took it apart and found the pin that holds the fork that engages the pto has broke. Can not find drain plug for the oil. Would like to wash it out good with diesel fuel. Is there one?

Building permits and building codes can vary greatly. You need to check with your county on that. Probably a phone call to the building department can answer those questions or get you close. Do note if this is a true farm some areas have different regulations on them or if a true commercial operation again different regulations on those. I would suggest you make a information gathering phone call to begin with sharing as little info as you can. Here calling the building a "shop" compared to "barn" makes major differences in plans cost, building options and so forth.

As to the building itself would suggest you try and find building like you want and begin with asking that owner. Strongly suggest you do a lot of looking at buildings for there are many options and there can be wide variance in cost on similar buildings.

I understand the fear of large repair bill. In my case I spent more on parts that were suppose to be the problem than it would have cost for dealer with wiring diagram and their knowledge would have cost. Also know each shop and case is different.

If still paying off, have you checked how long warranty is?

This has been topic before and with all such issues the best is to avoid it. Am sure that is why the thought of the chain.

Slow rpms to give time to react helps a lot and also often raising the auger to clear it can. However the stuck auger will still happen so be careful.

Use pry bar or such to rotate the auger back with tractor turn off.

Know there was talk in another thread about using hyd powered auger for this reason so you can reverse it out. kt

Both front and rear differentials have drain plugs. But that's not all. You also need to drain the transmission and the transfer case. They share gear oil with the rear differential housing.

I noticed that the rear end was leaking on my x500 and also noticed it was low on hyd.fluid can you fill it yourself or do you need to take it to the dealer? if you can fill it yourself will tractor hyd. fluid work.

May 17th I had the local mechanic who works on my L3240 come out to the house and do the 200 hour service on my tractor. The hour meter was at 203 hours. It took him about two hours to do all that was a part of my manuals requirements for the 200 hour check up. All was well except for some bolts that needed to be torqued to the correct tightness. It has been an amazing two years with the L3240.

I have an early 80's Belarus 820 that my father bought new. We never had any issue with the hydraulics before but today the 3 point hitch arms will not raise or lower. The reservoir is full. My nephew was going to use the tractor earlier and had move multiple levers. I believe everything is back to normal but the arms still won't move? Any help would be greatly appreciated?

I had the same/similar problem with the 1300, turns out I had to remove the lift section, force out the piston and clean & hone the cylinder and piston, then clean out the valve module, I replaced the 2 o-rings too.

moisture had been getting in at the shifter, I remade a boot for that. the moisture was most of the problem, causing crud and rust in the cylinder that jammed it ....

Not always necessary, depends upon the weight of the implement relative to the capacity of the pump. Increased revs are only really necessary if/when raising an implement causes a noticeable decrease in engine revs or increase in pump noise.

Did you check for excess play in the balancer shaft bushings? Were they replaced at the time of rebuild? This seems more likely than piston slap with only 300 hours unless you had a four corner seize situation. Did the engine ever stall unexpectedly? Just curious, where did you get your engine rebuild parts? Were they JD original or another brand?

I assume that you are getting fuel in the crankcase and overfilling it? When you bled the fuel lines, did you loosen the lines at the injection pump? If so, then you might have loosened the fitting that the line screws onto. The fitting under the fuel line that is threaded into the pump can come loose when you loosen the fuel lines. If that fitting is left loose, fuel bypasses the fitting internally and leaks into the crankcase. Usually you have a misfire on that cylinder also, depending on how loose it is. There is a copper washer under the fitting that seals the connection.

Dennis know it hurts but think on the good times and experience. You will realize he meant more than you probably realized then and be thankful for the lessons you learned from the good and bad times there.

We planted a holly tree with cement dog where we buried our Golden and I think of him every time I cut around it. We buried ole shoes and such with him as he loved to bury such. Most were ones he had buried and we dug up and saved for some reason. Sure do miss that ole boy. Knew it was safe to be outside for he was a great snake dog. Could sniff either kind out real well. kt

It is either the hand pump below the steering wheel or steering cylinder that is leaking by. We have had an assortment of different reasons for the failures depending on the make although we have not seen any one reason for when they do go under and after correcting units have not had other steering issues.
I'd contact the dealer so you can get it documented in Kubota's system of the trouble and it should be covered under warrantee.
