It's been a few years with these intermittent problems where the tractor runs but won't move.

They usually went away but now it's just plain no-go with no message at all.

Now that winter is over (it's been a monument since February) I can lie on the ground to work on it.

Putting the shuttle lever forward or backward gets nothing.

If I get up while the shuttle lever is pulled the tractor shuts off so I think it knows about the lever.

Perhaps there is a relay that tells the tractor it's ok to comply with my request.

I bought the electrical/platform service manual and tested the go pedal which passed.

Perhaps a loose ground that I can't find?

There are quite a few wires that disappear up under the 'platform' where I can't see.

I started trying to get at them but it seems like I would have to disconnect metal hydraulic lines, etc. to remove the platform.

I was considering creating an access port with a cut off saw but then that thought faded but has not disappeared.

Wow am I the only one who still has a Boomer 8N?

Or perhaps the only one trying to use it as a small farm tractor.

This is not a good sign. ....

Sorry for the problem(s) you are having. My suggestion might not please you but would suggest taking it to the NH dealership. At least talk with the shop manager on the problem for it may be something they can find and fix cheaper than the hunt is. Don't ask how I know, just say I know with another brand!

When that model hit here I thought it was going be very popular till a friend told me how much they wanted for it. ....

kthompson - Thanks for the reply!

The dealer will be happy to come and get it, however I am still paying this thing off and don't want a $1000 plus repair bill to fix some loose wiring harness that takes six hours to get at.

I don't think anyone sold enough of these to see a pattern of problems.

But now my old MHF TO-35 is down too so it looks like the cows will soon be grazing in the hay fields.

I understand the fear of large repair bill. In my case I spent more on parts that were suppose to be the problem than it would have cost for dealer with wiring diagram and their knowledge would have cost. Also know each shop and case is different.

If still paying off, have you checked how long warranty is? ....

I know it has been a long while, but this afternoon my tractor was working and then the gas pedal just stopped working. I would hit it and there was just no transfer of power. It sounds like your problem. Do you remember what the issue was?
