Those can be good tractors, parts can be hard to find now so hope you don't need certain parts.

Think the answer to your question depends on two things, how rusty is it and how good a job you want to do. If light rust wire brush probably will do fine if heavy then sand blasting it. How good a joint can you get with the tire still on the rim? I think you will want to remove it and be sure the tire side of the rim is not rusting.

Dennis I can not answer your question but always find it funny the times people tell you the fish don't bite. The one that gets me the most is when it is raining for I have had some of my best results then.

To me you can catch fish if they are eating. It is my impression fish do eat less in the winter but they still eat but what they eat might change. Does in this area.

Did you change your hyd oil? That tractor should have remote hydraulics on it (well in the US it did) if so and you can try using those to see if they work. Now typing that no idea on the dial you are talking about (my case from then was smaller with no cab) but are you using the correct controls for the lift some for the remote if so equipped and for the lift arms separate controls. Also look for linkage not connected. Again not certain this will apply to your model but if there is a knob under the seat to adjust the oil flow it might be closed and preventing the lift raising. Sorry don't know the controls on that machine.

Depending on how the muffler mounts bolted on or clamped also try muffler shop. Found out one locally does a good bit on tractors due to brand prices and probably brands that you have issue getting parts for now.

well einnoc first have missed seeing you here and glad to have a fellow SC member. Your post did cause me to look and think you will have to launch hundred miles before I am concerned. LOL

I do agree there is fun in watching something go pow. I have a tree you can use for target if you wish to, need it knocked off the dirt pile it is on. Might be a good topic for here.

I know some who do adjust relief valves but my advice is realize the whole system is built for a certain pressure and you want the relief valve to be the so called weak link and not hoses, cylinders or bucket arms. Do agree with all said above.

Greg, if I understand the tire is not running straight. Does that cause movement in the tractor? I know a lot of big truck tires don't run straight but on the rear never does one tire support the full weight.

You did check the rim and not the tire for run out. By chance did you check to be certain it is not the axle? There does not happen to be a washer on one of the studs behind the rim is there? Strange things do happen.
