Finally diagnosed the rough ride in my 3720 when in C-range at speed on asphalt. Discovered one of the rear rims is twisted, probably since new. Tire wobbles over an inch out of true. I'm not getting any warranty satisfaction from the dealer, so I priced a new rim. I almost dropped the phone when I heard the $363 quote from John Deere, so I'm looking for an aftermarket rim to fit a 43x16x20 R4 tire. Search engine hasn't helped so far. Any suggestions?

Some tire retailers, especially farm-tire ones, offer to rejuvenate rims (sand-blasting/painting and trueing). ....

Was hoping to shake a new one out of the weeds in a couple John Deere forums, cuz I'm sure not going to pay dealer price. But there are a couple tire outfits around here I'll be checkin' with this coming week.

Yeah, been trying to. W14L is a common rim type, but seems to be pretty rare in 20" diameter. All the new W14L rims I've found are for 26" and bigger. Except for one on eBay, and I think $220 for a rusty rim is a bit steep.

Greg, if I understand the tire is not running straight. Does that cause movement in the tractor? I know a lot of big truck tires don't run straight but on the rear never does one tire support the full weight.

You did check the rim and not the tire for run out. By chance did you check to be certain it is not the axle? There does not happen to be a washer on one of the studs behind the rim is there? Strange things do happen. ....

The rim is clearly out of true. It's not the drive wheel, so I was able to jack that side up off the ground. I put the range select in neutral, and rotated the tire by hand. I confirmed that is was neither the axle nor the hub. I also confirmed that the spacer is flush with the hub, and that the rim is flush with the spacer. The rim itself is about 1" out of true. By the time the error reaches the lugs, they've got a 2" wobble.

I found a used W14L-20 on eBay, but $220 plus freight seems a bit high considering the quite visible chipped paint and rust. I also checked for an area shop that might be able to render mine true again. No luck there either.

I finally convinced John Deere that it was a warranty issue. The out-of-true condition is due to a careless job of aligning the spokes and the rim during the welding stage of the manufacturing process. Replacement rim on order. They'll have an area tire company bring out the new rim, drain the RimGuard, remove/swap rims, replace RimGuard, remount wheel/tire - all under warranty
