You know Murf, looking at this when you commented on it, I fully agree with your comment. Just because many get away with something dumb does not make it safe.

Total agree the clutch is not working correcting with the PTO for some reason. It does not matter whether single or two stage clutch it should not grind.

You are correct about what Tractor data shows. I would suggest you having a mechanic look at this. You might be able to stop in a local dealer and ask a few questions. I much rather pay a $100 or so and find out need to pass than to buy it and have major cost or you may pay and find out it is simple adjustment and great shape.

Storm, there are two sides to this so take the advice with warning.

Mother's day is coming, you may wish to buy an attachement for your wife for the tractor and of course birthday. But be very careful, she make decide it means this is HER rig and there you are, loney and looking for another one. Fully fully agree with Frank. A serious piece of advice, you may need ear protection for the noise from especially a mower if loud. Eye protection is also good again especially with a mover for they will surprise you where they throw stuff. If you can get a manual read it page by page and then do it again and again. I for one don't like to connect a pto on a tractor running. Hve done it but don't like it.

Dutchenry, again realize a lot varies from area to area but here that would have meant the road is private and was not turned over to the county or accepted by them. Some advantages there along with some disadvantages such as maintance. It might be possible to get the county to take it over or accept it depending on what is required.

I think you said people like to race on this road, when putting in a gravel drive ay a family house was recommended to place humps (speeed bumps) in to prevent that. Not sure the best idea but does get your attention. No, did not paint the gravel yellow so it kinds of sneaks up on you.

Frank, landscape rake does move loose dirt right well and would say if loose gravel even better.

It is good to oil all pivot points even those that have no oil or grease points. Some chemicals oftens used around tractors can create rust real quickly. (fertlizer being a big one and some chemicals used for weeds suspect snow has it own issues)

To me there are two other things to consider, "04" possibly your belt needs replacing due to wear and the water is enough to show that. Second one is our's will not spin the wheels either unless it is bogged. Could it be there was a good load mud and water being pushed and thus it should have slowed down?

A few other thoughts. Since you are draining a pond could it be the intake on the hose is clogged by trash? Could it be deep enough the water level has dropped lower than the lift capacity of the pump? There is also the possibility it has worn enough while running to prevent it pulling the water.

If the last one you might be able to lower the pump. A pump can push much better than it can pull.

Frosty, I would think you could find a used lift kit for an outboard. They also has an electic set up for opening a gate. No idea who they would compare. You also might find a pump kit for hyd dump trailer. Boy that might be an over kill.,

I don't have a front end loader (FEL) but do know you can damage them in pushing the unmoveable object. Sure others will chime on that.

The dirt in SC hill country can very from red clay to sand. That will make a big difference of course along with the size of the trees you will be wanting to take out. Reading the specis of trees think you are in the clay hills near Georgia. If you are wanting to just clear them so the hardwoods will grow cutting them off and leaving stumps in ground might be a good option for more than one reason. You don't want to be sitting on the roots of the tree you are trying to push. So length of rig does come into play.

As to Kubota brand, by blood still has red tint to it but the red has been contimanted by blue so it is mostly orange now. Matter of fact a very good color for SC. You should find the Kubota has good dealer support probably the best of any brand in SC.

I think the shifter slots when both are in neutral with be in line with each other, forming a rectangle.

Do be careful in checking this as it is easy to want to stand beside the tractor and it running to see if it is shifting properly with the top plate off...don't.
