I'm looking at a 2002 4600 HST MFWD with 1100 hours, heated Cozy cab, 72 inch MMM, 460 FEL, brand new industrial front tires, real new rear turf tires for $16,500. Is that a fair price in the eastern Iowa area? I plan to use it to mow 5-6 acres, move snow and dirt, and landscape my places with it. Looking to put a box scaper or something like that on the rear, a tiller, and maybe an auger for planting trees and such.I think this tractor is the right size, but is the price fair?

Welcome to the form, I'm not that far from you in Linn county.
I don't keep up much on tractor prices but that doesn't seem all that bad, if it came from a good home 1100 hours isn't that many. Loaders and MMM mowers are pricey attachments, and a cab would sure have been nice this winter with all the snow to push around. Having owned lots of Deere farm equipment and three or four Deere compacts their resale value has always been outstanding especially in this part of the state, you'll never get hurt there.
The only flag I see is with having R-4 tires on the front axle and turfs on the rear is if the circumference of the front R-4's is different from the original front turf's you are going to be putting some undue strain on the driveline when in four wheel drive. I've really never heard of one being worn out for that reason but for the good of the tractor it's just good practice to have properly sized tires that are size matched the same as it came from the factory. I personally am a bigger fan of R-4's than turfs, but it will be lots less expensive of course to go back to the proper size front turfs.

Thanks for the reply. I believe that that the fronts are the right circumference for that tractor. It did come from a good home. It has always been shedded since new, and it was traded in on a new 4310. BTW what are the differences in R1-R2-R3-R4 tires? I'm a newbie at this. Thanks ....

R-1 tires are like you see on regular farm tractors are fine for compacts doing heavy work but they are pretty nasty on lawns.
R-2's, I 'm not famillar with what they are.
R-3's, are the turf tire like on 99% of lawn mowers and some compacts that do primarily lawn and landscaping, real gentle on grass. Softest ride.
R-4's Industrual tires like on backhoes, skid loaders, and lots of compacts. The most rugged of the bunch, with long tread life, not too bad on grass, but the roughest ride because of the stiff sidewalls.
Likely the reason the industral tires are on the front is they will stand the beating a loader can give them better than the softer turf tires.

Oh okay. So I have R4 on the front and R3 on the back. It will be delivered Monday after he shows me how to drop and add all the attachments and operate everything.Now I have to build a new shed! Without the cab it will fit in my current shed. With the cab it is an inch to 2 inches too tall!! LOL Way to go Chief. Nice planning. LOL ....

Can you determine who used it for what? My tires still look new after 4000 hrs, so I'd guess that a rig needing new ones after 1000 hrs was in some pretty rough commercial service. ....

It was used by an older gentleman south of where I live. He had a grapple buckle on the front and put the R4s on it because he used the buckle a lot. He mowed his yard with it and used the FML a lot. He was a elderly small farmer. I seen the tractor on his farm before the dealership picked it up. The bucket that came with the FEL was never used. He had his old grapple bucket on it. I do need to drop the FML and do some touch up painting on the outside frame where the grapple forks hydro line chaffed along the side of the frame of the FEL. Rest of the tractor looks very good. Will try to post pics after it is delivered. Hope this helps about the new tire situation. ....

I'm seeing the symptoms already, you have tractoritis.
First the tractor, now a shed to put it in, then a tiller, boxblade, it never ends. Most of us here have the disease in a bad way, but what a wonderful disease it is, you're going to love it. Spring is just around the corner, the smell of fresh tilled soil, smell of fresh mown grass, WOW. ....

Storm, there are two sides to this so take the advice with warning.
Mother's day is coming, you may wish to buy an attachement for your wife for the tractor and of course birthday. But be very careful, she make decide it means this is HER rig and there you are, loney and looking for another one. Fully fully agree with Frank. A serious piece of advice, you may need ear protection for the noise from especially a mower if loud. Eye protection is also good again especially with a mover for they will surprise you where they throw stuff. If you can get a manual read it page by page and then do it again and again. I for one don't like to connect a pto on a tractor running. Hve done it but don't like it. ....
