Yes, you are correct, you had brought up the Roundup part of this thread in a prior post. I had drifted away while they were discussing the tractor problem and didn't read the whole thread before I talked about Roundup.
A little addition to my Roundup experience is that having the sod mowed short then giving the clippings time to dry away before spraying makes things work even better. Having it mowed short gives you less trash to deal with when you do till it up.
The moldboard plows are still used used on a much smaller scale here than in the past and only on the flatest ground for the reasons you mention, mainly wind erosion. We never had to pre till with a chisel plow before using a moldboard plow, the plow turned the sod over well enough to kill the sod out over winter.

If you mean a box blade when you refer to a dirt box then yes you will find a box blade to be very usefull and also a great counterweight for the FEL
The normal configuration of my tractor is having the FEL mounted and the box blade on the three point 99% of the time. You will find yourself using the FEL almost every day, mine has never been off the tractor since it was new.
Your feelings about a rear blade are correct, unless the soil has been loosened by the box blade ripper teeth or some ohter method the little three point blades aren't heavy enough to do much, I had one and sold it.

You bought the 620i new four months ago and have 750 hrs? That's a lot of hours in a hurry.
There is a grease zerk on a universal joint about under your feet underneath that doesn't grease the universal but does grease the spline that the universal needs to slip a bit on. It turns all the time whether you are in 2 or 4 wheel drive, maybe check that.

Sorry to hear of your storm experience, but first the good parts, nobody hurt, and just the excuse you needed to get a Gator.
Our insurance policy is a "One size fits all" so to speak. It covers both houses, the cars, pickup, farm buildings, every thing inside of the houses, buildings, farm liability, etc. all for two tidy premium payments per year.
I will be the last to say I understand insurance terms and definitions so I guees you just have to trust you agent. I have a friend who was amazed to learn that I've never read out poicy word for word, cover to cover, just the high points. Again that's where you have to trust the agent. We're perety rural here so I've known the agent since high school, fifty years this year.
We've had almost every car or truck type claim from totals to deer hits to hit and runs, so far just pay the deductible and no hassle. Last summer,(09), we had quite a bit of storm damage at the farm, roofs, commercial size overhead doors, 35 ft. flagpole, storm doors, etc., etc. I called the agent on a Friday an hour after the storm, the adjuster came on Saturday, said get it fixed and send us the bill, all but the 1000.00 deductible on the whole works, there were no limits per item. So as I said I know very little about insurance of any kind so there are probably as many different home owner policys as there days in a year.

For some reason our furnace has an odd ball size filter that nobody local stocks. I'm going to try to find one the puter after bit, so I'll look for "canadian tire" then too.

I can't tell you for sure what is causing the fluid to get to hot, but a few thoughts.
As was said liquids expand when heated so if the sump of the system is overfilled it will come out somewhere and your fill cap is it's easiest escape.
Ok, now I'll assume a couple things.
1- The backhoe is powered by the hydraulic system of your tractor.
A - If so perhaps your tractors system was never designed to handle or cool the flow required for a backhoe.
B - If your tractor has a radiator to cool the hydraulic fluid perhaps the radiator is covered with trash or something restricting the airflow.
C - Possibly a valve is stuck in a partial position causing constant bypass by the high pressure relief valve. For example a stabilizer control valve.
D - A clogged filter in the tractor causing constant bypass.
2- The backhoe has it's own system powered by the PTO of the tractor.
A - I have limited experience with three point backhoes that have their own hydraulic system powered by the PTO. I think most of them use an oversize sump to allow a bit of fluid cooling while it is in the sump, I've never saw one with a fluid cooling radiatior, that doesn't mean there aren't some.
B - Again perhaps a stabilizer valve is stuck causing constant high pressure bypass.
C- A filter or screen is clogged.
D- A pinched or kinked hose or steel line causing a situation similar to a high pressure relief valve in a constant situation.

There are lots of other possibilitys that I've missed but perhaps this will give you a few things to check.

I really haven't tried to sell any tools or shop equipment yet. Probably got 15 - 18K bd. ft. of hardwood lumber, red and white oaks, cherry, walnut, maple, and other minor specie left over too. I'm still reeling from the tax reaming that Uncle Sam gave us after the farm equipment and land auctions in three separate years that I just aint ready to give him another tidy sum to PXXX away.

I'm by no means defending Deere, I own no stock etc. and knowing that others have had the Gator oil issue that the have more or less said too bad buy a new engine doesn't build my loyalty with me to to Deere only to the dealer I work with. Unless they do make good to the owners of the bad 620I's I'll have a hard time recommending one to anybody who asks.
This dealership does have one of the largest small equipment sales in the aeria and has sold lots of Gators, the service manager tells me they had only one so far with the oil problem.
Sometimes I think a lazy dealeship who don't want to make waves, or doesn't have the guts to buck the manufacturer will just pass a customer off with lame excuses rather than ruffle any feathers that may infuence their "Dealer Of the Year" award. I've always felt my dealer did what he could for me but I've also have never been afraid to find the custopmer relations phone and sorta go direct to the ones who can if they choose correct your problem, so even tho you have found a more helpfull dealer don't hesitate to go direct to the ones who may have the ultimate power to help you.
Just as an unrelated example the picture windows in our house are Andersen brand. Roughly about 7-8 years after the house was built the seal between the inner and outer glass failed letting moisture between. I contactd the lumber yard where we got all the materials for the house. The manager whom I've known and did 98% of all my lumber business with for the past 30 years. His response was that if he or anyone from the yard calls Andersen they just more or less say too bad sell em some new ones. His experience had been that if the cunsumer, (me) called Andersen direct that they usually come across with some help. It took only one phone call describing our problem, the age of the windows, etc., no hjassle whatever. The person whom I spoke with said if you will pay the instalation costs, about 150.00 I think the new windows will cost you nothing. Done deal.

The add on over running clutches were a necessary item on the Case 1070 series farm tractors. I at one time had two 1070's and put the OR clutches on both of them. They fitted over the regular PTO shaft on the tractor with a regular 540 PTO spline at the end of the OR clutch. They did extend the PTO shaft back about 8 inches maybe, but were quite necessary on that series tractor. For some reason the folks at Case designed the PTO brake to stop hard and NOW. It was common to hear of someone tearing up a PTO shft or at best cutting a shear pin when shuting the PTO off with a good sized rotary cutter at full RPM. The over running clutch solved that problem. Droping the engine RPM's to idle before stoping the PTO helped bur wasn't a total answer. I don't remember what they cost but I'm sure I bought them at TSC.

I've dealt with the situations simalar to your delema about removing all the fittings to get to the suspect one. It seems it it is always the back one that is a problem. There is really nothing to fear about removing the other three, the chances of you ending up with a leak on good sound fittings isn't that much of a risk. At worst the "O" rings can sometimes "Squirm" and break but they are pretty cheap. Likely the "O" rings will be a Deere specific size that only you know whos sells.
I've been as price shy of Deere parts as anyone, but I've found that to not always be true, hoses are a prime example.
There have been times that going to a hydraulic specialty place cost more than the Deere hose, so don't be afraid to call and check the prices.

You'd think that after having a tractor for ten years or so I'd remember a bit more about it, but I don't.
I know that one of the lift rods from the rockshaft arms on my 4310 that goes down to the three point draft link is adjustable for length but I can't remember if they both are without going out to look. If both lift rods are adjustqable that would be one way to bring the draft arms a bit higher on the 2520.
I just checked on Tractordata.com where you can compare any two tractors side by side. The only three point data they listed was the lift capacitys, 2210 @ 700 lbs. compared to the 2520 @ 1150 lbs.
If you aren't too choosy about the tread design some tires are available from the factory that stand a bit taller than others too.

Your terminoligy of "Hand Broke" some corn I'm taking to mean what we refered to as "Hand Husking" of corn. I just remember my Father hand husking corn where a team of horses pulled a wagon with real high sideboards on right side of the wagon called "Bang Boards" that the person who was hand husking, (hand picking) the corn would toss the picked ears toward the bang board then the ears fell from there into the wagon. The person,(lots of women and kids hand picked too) walked along the left side of the wagon normally picking two rows at a time, tossing the ears toward the bang board without having to aim really well they fell into the wagon.
They wore a "Husking Peg" on one hand which was a leather sort of glove with some steel pegs sticking out of it to halp pull the husks off the ears. I still have my Father's husking peg somewhere around here.
My Father used to say that it took a really fast hand picker to harvest a hundred bushels a day.
In my Father's day, (born in 1909) most boys and few girls went beyond the 8th grade in their country schools and it also was common for any school kids big enough to help to be let out for harvest help.
Today it is quite common here for combines to harvest four hoppers, some bigger than 300 bushels in an hour.

Most every American over probably 20 now remembers exactly where they were and what they were doing when they learned of the 911 attack.
Many of us here with enough gray hair or perhaps no hair remember where where were and what we were doing when we learned JFK was killed.
The memory of Walter Cronkite breaking in to the noon programs with word that shots had been fored at the mororcade. Then later the memory of Walter annoncing that the president was dead and his turning away from the camera to choke back some tears will never leave my memory.

They use a double pump system mounted on the side of the engine. The bigger half of the pump takes care of the three point, remote cylinders, power beyond, and probably something else I've forgotten.
The smaller half of the pump takes care of steering, brakes, PTO clutch, and some pressure transmission lubracation. If your tractor is a 12/12 power reverser transmission the steering pump also keeps pressure to the clutches for forward and reverse.
So now beside the steering problem do the power brakes work normally, the PTO will engage normally? If the other functions I mention work normally and the power steering is not then perhaps there is a collapsed steering hose or pinched steel line restricting the flow untill enough pressure from the higher engione RPM's overcme.
Lots of other possabilitys too, but thes come to mind right now.

Your 3520 is a newer version of the same chassis as my 4310, I think all PTO and three point componets are likeley identical.
I have some three point mounted rear PTO powered implements, a tiller and a couple rear mowers.
My tiller has a pretty short PTO shaft compared to the mowers which causes a much sharper angle of the PTO shaft when the tiller is lifted to it's highest position on the three point hitch. I have to remember to set the stop on the three point lift lever to keep me from lifting the tiller too high with it running. That causes a lot of driveline chatter having the univeral joints runing at too sharp an angle. It doesn't need to be lifted that high for clearance, so as long as I remember to set the lever stop there isn't any noticable chatter.
The mowere have driveshafts that are more than twice the length of the tiller so even at full lift height the angle of the shaft isn't enough to cause noticeable chatter.
I've used the PTO on the 4310 to power grain augers that normally have a pretty straight angle so I've never noticed any chatter there either.
Yours could be different but my 4310 doesn't have an over running clutch.

I don't think you will damage the cylinders by doing as you describe.
It does sound like you shouldn't wear your Sunday best while doing this tho.
It may take quite a while to work the air out of the system when you're done.

Electrical things aren't my claim to fame but clicking or not something isn't telling your injector pump to send fuel to the injectors. There is a valve in your injector pump that the relay controls to close to stop the engine and open to let it start. Somehow that valve isn't getting the signal to open is my best guess. I'm not going to offer any advice as to how to go about any repairs, I'd likely just make things worse.
