Does anyone know that the proper wheel torque is for a JD 4610. I found the disk to flange torque (114 lbs) but what about the actual wheel bolts?

Billy, not sure if I am following you and what you are referring to. The manual says 114 ft./lbs. like you said for the wheel bolts to the axle flanges. As far as I remember in my mind there are no others. May be that my 4410 is different from yours. My wheel bolt torques are the same as yours. The wheel rims are one piece on my tractor. Maybe different on yours. ....

I was refering to the rear wheels. They have two sets of bolts? One set holds the whole wheel onto the tractor and the other set holds the outer rim to the inner rim? ....

If the manual doesn't give specific torque specs for them the torque likely is intended to be taken from a general table. There's usually a table somewhere that gives torque by bolt size and sometimes also by thread and grade but it's more likely that all general hardware on a tractor uses the same thread type and grade. A table like that probably is somewhere in a repair manual and I think there's one in my owner's manual as well. Using values from a table should proof you against stripping threads unless they're softer bolts, and you can blame JD (small satisfaction) if they loosen. ....

Billy, you have different rims than I have. I just have the lug bolts. It is odd that when I checked the repair manual; it says on pg. 820 & 821 that the wheel lug torque for the rear wheels is 65 - 80 ft. lbs. and 90 ft./lbs. for the front wheels. The owner's manual says 114 for front and rear. I went with the 114. If you have the repair manual, look on pgs. 9 - 11 for the recommended torques from the torque tables that Tom was speaking of. If you don't have one, give me the size and grade bolt and I can look up the recommended torque for you. Sorry about the confusion on the rims. Mine are all one piece welded with the lug bolts only. Do you have spin outs or some other type of rim? ....

Around my area, the only way I have ever seen them was with the R-4 tires and one piece rims. Wish I had adjustable rims. I would love to make the width between the rear tires MUCH wider for better stability on slopes. It makes almost no difference at all to reverse the rims as there is very little width gained if any with these. ....

Billy, do you have R1 tires? I thought that on JD CUTs R1s came with the two-piece adjustable rims and the turf and R4 tires came with one piece rims. ....
